June 2016 MK Park Hours.... 10 pm closing times; Is this pay more get less?

I'm hoping they get extended. My husband just told me he'd like to do 4 days at Disney and 2 days at Universal in June and he and my teens are night owls.

I know this thread is mostly about MK but the water parks are showing June hours until 5. For some reason I'm thinking we stayed later than that in the past but perhaps I'm wrong?
Any thoughts??
Thanks!

Thanks. My wife works there. I assure you she knows more than "squat."
I think the point is that they aren't informed of everything. Not that they are stupid.
I just had major issues with the dates I wanted no longer being available for that amount of nights..but not even close to sold out. I called, couldn't get a "real" answer. My travel agent called, twice as well..demanded answers..placed on hold for a while and then told "The decision to impose length of stay requirements was from the Contemporary itself, so guest services can not do anything about it."

We will be there June 13 thru June 25th. All 10 pm closing YET late May is midnight. We too like to stay till midnight if not 1 or 2 am for the thousands of $$$$ we give them.

When I called a few weeks back they told me the hours might be extended durong June depending on the crowd.. that if they see most people leaving at 9pm then they won't adjust.
They will extend. It's a business..they need to make sure they have the crowds to make the late hours cost efficient. And the crowds will be there.. So Disney will extend. Period. We're in March..not May, give it some time and everything will be ok.. and you will have a fabulous trip :)

But then again, I also think the new pre and after hours events are good things. Not everyone will agree with that, and that's ok. :)

Did they change hours for the whole month? Like every night? No. Yes, hours change here and there, but every night of the month? Come on. This is different.

I know that last October the hours changed end of September. Animal Kingdom was extended by an hour or two almost every day and some of the other parks changed as well. At least for the last week (which was all I paid attention to).

Just like the hard ticket parties have MK closing at 7pm 3-4 nights per week with no night entertainment for guests (who still pay full price for a ticket)...welcome to the club!

Oh well, what do you do?

Yes, we experienced this during our Nov./Dec. 2015 trip. There were like 4 Xmas Parties during a 7-day period. We planned our trip based on Josh's Park hour predictions, based on the same time period in 2014. The Park hours never got extended!! And evening EMH were offered less often than previous years. We prefer the evening EMH over the morning ones.

The problem with that logic is that this year they have been waiting longer and longer to extend hours, so its really hard to compare last year to this year. Just ask the March and April folks. I'm fairly certain they didn't extend hours for those months very early in the process either.
Did you not read my post  I'm not basing it on last year, I'm basing it on the last eleven years! The fact that you admit this year they have been waiting longer only supports my point  . That being said, at 60 days out I'm still confident there will not be one day MK is not open at least until 12pm while I'm there in early June :wave2:

We are also late night MKers, usually arriving at 4-5pm and staying until close. I feel really thankful that the last DAH night (as scheduled right now) is the night before we arrive and most of our theme park days are over by June. We will have one MK night in June, but I believe our other 3 nights are midnight and 1am closings. My only fear is that, between now and then, they will try to take hours away from the the 20th-31st of May to add more DAH. I really hope June hours get extended and that this whole 10pm is not the new norm.

Um, obviously I read your post. I replied to it. No need to get snippy here. I wasn't being snippy with you so I would expect the same. Wow.

graciedad I agree, they never wait this long :worried:. For eleven years we've be going in early June and they have never waited this long to extend hours. Many planners start their entire planning process based on park hours. I agree they may change hours for some some dates, but not the entire month. This is unusual and a real bummer if they don't extend them. One of the reasons we love going in June is because the parks are open later.

I'm not trying to be snippy either. But you indicated there was a problem with my logic because it was based on a comparison to last year when it was actually based on an eleven year trend. So is there a problem with my logic or did you just not read close enough and now you're offended because I defended myself? Wow.

I'll correct my thoughts: You really can't compare this year to ANY OTHER YEAR (last year up to ELEVEN years ago or any year before that), because this year seems to be DIFFERENT in Disney's approach to releasing extended hours.

To your other point, I never once said I was offended. I don't get that worked up about a silly discussion board, and no, I don't have a problem with you disagreeing with me. Not sure why you classify it as "defending yourself" as that would suggest I was attacking you and in no way was that an attack...lol. However, I feel like your response was rude, or snippy...as I stated. Or did you NOT read my post?

if they do so, it is nothing less than a kindness and courtesy to their guests.

if WDW doesn't stay open as late as you want them to, then I'm sure they're sorry.

I don't know why, but those two sentences really made me chuckle!

I think we will see something on May 16th. Maybe the 9th but most likely the 16th.

It is kind of strange when looking at the park hours that Animal Kingdom is open until 11 every night but Magic Kingdom is now listed as closing at 10.

I really want to see the June hours extended for MK, but IMO I don't think the parks are going to be as crowded as years past.

Clearly Disney knows their on site occupancy rates for the month, but they may wait to see how many Fastpass bookings there are at the 30 day mark to get an idea on off site crowds.

I think that's definitely a possibility.

But I also think it's a possibility that bookings are still up but they're still considering fewer hours to help pay for Shanghai.
