June 17, 2016 - Magic goes to Norway and Iceland from Dover

Welcome! I have added you and your family to our FE list. Are there any food allergies to be aware of? Also, to confirm, Breyton and Jareth are DSs and Marin is DD? With unique names, it is always good to confirm. Spencer is my DDs name :) The Magic was our first ship ever, and we love her! I am sure Breyton will enjoy the brand new Edge club that was moved and redone since last summer. My son Owen (12) is excited to get to spend some time there again. He splits his time in the Edge with some time in The Lab, as his sister is only 6.

Happy planning!

No allergies and yes Breyton and Jareth are DSs and Marin is a DD. Breyton is a bit shy.. so he might not spend too much time in Edge, but I think he likes the idea that he can go somewhere his sister can't go. :) When they are in the main kids club area his sister just shadows him everywhere. Is the FE list posted somewhere or will you just share it once it closes?

Our FE list has not been posted. I plan on posting it when it closes. Owen isn't too shy, but his favorite is to play non-stop video games because we have a time limit at home. Ha! I used to fight it, but then I realized it is his vacation, too, and if that is what makes him happy, then why not. We still eat meals together and attend the shows at night as a family, so it all balances out. I hear it really makes a difference for the Edge and the Vibe to make sure the kids spend some time there on the first night. I guess they have some kind of icebreaker and things to better integrate the kids and start some friendships. We will be sending Owen after dinner to see what happens.

HI everyone, we just made the final decision to join this cruise. This will be our very first Disney cruise trip. We'd like to join the FE group (just learned what that is 10 mins ago). We are the family of 4: myself: Ying; My DH: Johnny; my DS: Leo (3); my DD: Sisi (8MO, she probably will be the youngest in this cruise). No food allergy.

I'm very excited because I am a big Disney fan. But I am also very nervous since we are always stressed out while traveling with my toddler. Will he be fine? Will he sleep well with his baby sister in the same room? Etc. This is one of the reasons that we chose DCL, so he can enjoy the magic of Disney when the adults can have our own fun. my son is already talking about going to Mickey Mouse ship everyday! Hope he will love this trip!

Oh! And is there any other 3 or 4 years old on board that want to do playdate in the cruise???

Welcome! So excited for your first Disney cruise - you will love it! I have added your family to our FE list. We took our DD on her first Disney cruise to the Med when she was just three months old! (Before they changed the rules. Do not be nervous about travelling with a toddler. DD has been on cruises at 3 mos, 15 mos, 23 mos, 3 yrs, 4 1/2yrs and 5 years. Each cruise was different, but amazing for all of us. As far as the napping question, the staterooms have the main sleeping area and the pullout couch with a nice dark curtain between them. This has made naps possible for us through the years. This may be our first cruise with no naps.

Hey everyone! My family and I decided last month to book this cruise. I have been on 18 DCL Cruises and love them! Last year my DH and I did the Norway fjords cruise and loved it! I will now be reading through the 11 pages! For the roll call, it's Rachel and Kevin and my two girls Olivia and Isabelle. :)

Thank you for the kind words! everybody says good things about DCL. My husband and I really want to try this right now. If it works, we can book more trips!

Welcome! Do you have any tips or info on your time in Bergen or Stavanger last summer? We did the Baltic cruise last summer, so all of theses ports are new to us except for Copenhagen of course. Would you like to join our FE? We have 7 families participating so far.

Happy planning!

Make sure that you book a placeholder cruise during your cruise. You get a 10% discount and up to $200 onboard credit on whichever cruise you go on within the next 2 years. (There are a few blackout dates where it won't apply.). I also meant to tell you that the nursery staff is awesome in case you and your husband want to enjoy Palo for brunch or dinner.

We actually did the pulpit rock hike on our own. It was an amazingly difficult experience. :) I can help with that if anyone is going to do that without DCL. It cost us about $45 each so it was worth it. We just watched the time. We took the funicular up in Bergen. It's right by the port so that was easy. There is also a playground at the top and a cool hike to a lake. That was nice. Taking some sandwiches up there would be a great idea. The town is right next to the port and there is a great market and all kinds of different stuff to eat/try. There is also a Starbucks. We used Bergen as one of our down days because the cruise was very port heavy and we did a lot of hikes. i'm glad we did cos it's a sweet town. Hope that helps.

For anyone taking the train from London to Dover: We are taking the train the day before our cruise to Dover. Through research, I found two websites recommended for buying tickets. Trainline.com and tickets.southeastern.co.uk I decided to prebook our train as we are four people travelling with luggage. For the exact same train, on the exact same day, tickets.southeastern.co.uk was 30£ cheaper! £60.85 vs. £90.60. Just sayin!:) Hope this helps someone.

We are doing everything without DCL. I'm going to book a tour in Iceland, but that's about it. I'm planning on doing a lot of hiking and touring on our own. Any suggestions are appreciated. I like your idea in Bergen.
