Hello all you medheaders from Sunny Spain!!

We got here just fine, but a few of us did not sleep on the plane, so we took it very easy today. We got checked in, went upstairs, came down and ALSO and fam were in the lobby! We have run into them twice so far today and are having a blast talking to them. THEY are iron people because they did not sleep on the plane AND they took off and explored Barcelona WE took naps

Our foreign exchange student´s parents just called and we are meeting them for dinner. Dont know where, but it will be fun!

MARLA we are so sorry you and Kara cannot make it. We will miss you both

Hi everyone....we are about 2 1/2 hours from heading to the airport! I'm so excited I can barely stand being around myself! My DS12 is still in school taking last minute tests! Poor kid! lol

I double checked this morning on US Air's website (to make sure I didn't dream the phone call) and yes, it is delayed. We're still going almost normal time due to rush hour traffic.

Hello there from the great city of Barcelona!! We have arrived exhausted noting that my daughter got a couple of hours of sleep. I got a few minutes here and there, but my husband didn´t get any. The Iberia over seas was quite hot, which made sleeping even harder. We have gotten the desired caffiene and our on our way to explore Barcelona. We have had the opportunity to meet Silver 7 and her family at the hotel - They are all quite fun to be around!! After our walking tour of the city, we will try to retire a bit early tonight so that we can get a full day in tomorrow. See everyone on Sat. for the vacation of a lifetime<1

hi all..we're here. after a long day and delayed flight london to barcelona. heathrow is a mess! if anyone was planning on taking the metro...if you have 2 or more bags to pull don't. it was a pain in the ***. we just got settled, found some kfc on the corner for a quick bit. can't get wireless so i am using the hotel computer. look forward to tomorrw. off to be now.

We made it to Pittsburgh. Long drive after a long day. Arrived at the Embassy Suites to find that we had no internet. Oh well.

Gees hi neighbor! Myself, Dnephew Mark, & Dniece are right up the road @ LaQuinta. I'm sure you also noticed the lack of hotel rooms in Pittsburgh due to the US Open. We have internet down here! We fly out tomorrow about 3:30pm, hopefully! My DB wanted to have full office hours today. DB & Disney Lover Linda will meet me @ the airport tomorrow.

Well - the day from hell continues. I'm not sure who upset the travel gods - but enough is enough. We were late getting out of Pittsburgh - we were actually on the runway to take off when a computer went down - went back to the gate - ran to another flight - and then sat on a 20 minute ground delay - and missed the connection in Philadelphia - by five minutes. The first option to fly to London and connect failed as there were only 2 seats on the flight to London. USAirways was initially NO help - so I was using AMEX to make me new reservations. Finally found a supervisor who cared - and here's the plan:
1. We stay the night in Philly.
2. USAirways provides us tranportation to Newark.
3. We fly Lufthansa out of Newark to Frankfut and arrive in Barcelona on Saturday morning.

Needless to say we're tired, with no luggage - but it looks like we might actually make the cruise.

I'm so sorry about the hassles. How disappointing to miss London, were you going to be able to see your son there?

At least you had some extra time prior, so you won't miss the cruise.

Marla and Kara so sorry about the passport and that you will not be on the cruise with us. I am glad that you were able to book another cruise and will go to London and Paris next summer.

We are in Barcelona now. The overnight was really neat. I still feel like I am on it now, swaying back and forth. LeiLani - the room is under Ryan Beason if you want to call. Maybe we can meet in the lobby.

Not sure what we are doing today. DH is the shower and says he wants to take a nap. I think we may get tickets for the hop on hop off bus and ride around the city.

Wow! Maybe I need to dance (or not dance) to appease the travel gods! I'm getting VERY nervous for our travels today! With Pittsburgh so crowded with the US Open & the air show delays coud occur. Glad to hear they have a plan where you can make the ship in time, I hope we do too!

We are also doing the Frankfurt to Barcelona flight too! I hope because if we are not doing this then that means we are in travel trouble!

Yikes, so many travel problems! Here's hoping we manage without too many issues! We're flying Boston -> Zurich -> Barcelona.

I'm at work until about 4 when I'm heading to the airport from here to meet up with Andy. I haven't decided if I'm going to be useless today at work, or get a ton done, since I'm so excited to just get out of here. I guess the fact that I'm on here posting right now might be a sign

Well we are currently @ the Pittsburgh airport awaiting our 3:35pm flight to Philadelphia. At least the aircraft is here, so we should take off not too late. Hopefully we make our connection in Philly, which is very close.

We made it to Barcelona yesterday on time. We're still missing one bag - hopefully KLM comes through and we get it prior to getting on the ship. It has the girls' shoes in it. They may be wearing tennis shoes on formal night! Looking forward to meeting up on the ship today!

We're here! It's been pretty overwhelming but we've loved every second of it. We're waiting for our bags to be picked up to be taken to the ship as I type this.

We've started blogging the whole thing as well as keeping a Flickr set of all the best pictures and the stories that go with them.
