June 14, 2009 WONDER-ful cruise

We are not doing the land/sea vacation again this year ... just the 4-day cruise. It was too expensive to do two years in a row. We did the park for the first three days, then the cruise for four days. The park was exhausing because we tried to cram too much into three days. We LOVED the cruise so much. We weren't planning to vacation next year, but can't wait to go back. It was more than we ever imagined. We have cruised on other lines, but Disney is by far the best. I'll be happy to answer any questions.

We're also going on the 4 night departing June 14, 2009 and we cannot wait! We travel constantly to the Disney Parks and this will be our first cruise. We're very excited to try something different and also to try a cruise. We're happy that it is Disney as we're familiar with their wonderful service. It will be myself (Airline Industry), husband (ExxonMobil), and 2 children (9 year old son and 8 year old daughter):yay:

Hi gollal!

Welcome! I started this thread and haven't been a very good participant, have I?

I've been busy planning our first Christmas trip - a surprise for our kids! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!

I told the boys about your post & mentioned that you had kids their age. They were excited - they love making new friends! I'm sure all of our kids will be in the clubs together. We'll have 3 boys with us who will all be 8 next summer (our twins and my nephew).

What room are you in?

Kristie :)

Last year we booked our flights through Disney, and didn't get our flight information until 30 days before. From Pittsburgh, we flew on USAir. I've also heard of others who were booked on AirTran.

Hi there - I work for ExpressJet Airlines, otherwise known as Continental Express. We fly the small commuter or regional aircraft for Continental. Given that, we fly free but on stand-by on Continental Airlines. Therefore, to make sure we're on this cruise, but to still fly free, we will be coming in probably Saturday night and staying down near the boat someplace or even at MCO airport. Does anyone else plan on coming in the Saturday or even the Friday before?

We plan on driving to the port the Friday before, arriving sometime that evening. We haven't decided on a hotel yet.

Can I ask which airline? My wife is a flight attendant with SouthWest

We  SWA! It's our favorite! We are flying SWA next month, and on Dec. 9 when they open their next window I plan to book us for June.

We will be at POR from 6/5-6/13. My parents conveniently live in Cocoa Beach (actually Viera), so we are going to stay there Saturday night. I figure I can repack a lighter load for the cruise and leave the rest at their house. They will be driving us over Sunday morning.

My DBIL, DSIL, and DN will meet us there before we board. They aren't sure what they are doing in the days leading up to the cruise yet . . . maybe Daytona or KSC???

Kristie :)

If we are still here in TX, we think we are going to get into Orlando Friday afternoon and spend the evening in DTD and get dinner somewhere on property and then driving into PC on Sat for a day of relaxing before the cruise...of course things may be very diffrent if we happen to move to the area before the cruise

Hi - we are first timers too! I have 12 in my group. My kids are 9 and 11. My brother's kids are 3, 5, 7, 9, and 10. yes - that's 7 kids in our group. We all can't wait! I'm on this board weekly. Great information here.

We are coming from San Jose, California.

Is the 7year old a boy or girl? My DD is going to be 7 while on the cruise and is already planning on staying in the kids club the whole time...I know she's going to be in a funk everytime we take her out to eat

I think we are in 6116, 6114 and 6112. I need to double check but my information is at home. I will update if I'm wrong. Thanks!
