June 1, 2013 Let's Get This Party Started!

The still show inside staterooms on the website!

I think it depends on the number of people/kids you have in your party. I tried to book my brother and his family on the same cruise an all that was left was verandah or concierge, but when I tried to book my parents there was a lot of a availability.

I didn't think of that...we have 3 in our room...so that may make a difference.

Anyone plan on doing Fish Extenders? I've been reading about them and looking at the pictures. It looks like fun. I have so many ideas running around in my head after looking at them and the gifts people have made. I'm ready to start coming up with ideas for my own.

We are opening a tee shirt shop in the lobby of our sign shop so I'm trying to decide what shirts to make for the trip...as well as a shirt to have the characters autograph....ooohhh....I can make a tote bag for them to sign too...oh and tote bags for us to carry our stuff around in.

I know we have over a year and a half before the trip...but I'm soooooo excited.

What great ideas - we did fish extenders on our trip last June. It was really fun - it even worked great with concierge. The staff were very happy to make the deliveries, and it was fun to get up early one morning while the ship was still quiet and to deliver our little gifts. I hope that we have some folks on this meet who are interested. It makes the trip just that much more special.

I was just searching around tonight-home with a sick 4yr old-Happy New Year! We booked this cruise tonight-I'm so excited :cool1:

It will be our first cruise as a family-my 1st cruise in college was a disaster. My DH, and my DS (8) and DS (5 1/2). We went to WDW for the first time ever in January 2011-so we are new to the Disney love. Stayed at Wilderness Lodge and kindof loved it.

Also, June 1 is my birthday and June 5 is my husband's. So-b'day celebrations...at least that is how I sold it to the husband.

New to this board-thought it would be fun to post on this thread. Happy New Year!

Welcome aboard, to the boards and to the cruise thread!! Disney cruises are better than any other cruise. The same Disney magic you find at the parks and resorts is found on the ships. There is so much to do for the whole family. In my opinion, you can't find a better vacation. The adult areas are nice and relaxing and the kids clubs are so fun you probably won't see the kids except at dinner time (thats when we see our DS, we force him to leave the kids club long enough to have dinner with us.) Feel free to ask questions if needed, there are plenty of us here more than happy to talk Disney Cruising!

Welcome:cheer2:

I'm very excited! Now...just have to calm down till 2013...I'm sure 2012 will fly by just like 2011. Glad to know I'm not the only one who has booked a trip in 2013. I was feeling a little crazy-we wanted to book this summer-but I thought it would be better for our family to go with a 5 and 8 year old vs a 4 and 7 year old-seems like if we wanted to do some snorkeling and some excersions, you needed to be at least 5. Some even older. We love to snorkel.

Happy New Year!

Is anyone interested in trying to book a group tour with Bernard's on St. Marteen? I've been reading reviews and it looks like he is the go to guy on the island. It may end up being a bit cheaper, and if there are several of us with children of similar ages (my sons will be 11, 8, & 6), he may be able to tailor it to our more specific interests.

We will be there as well. Me, DW (TexasDisneyFan - I'm sure she'll be by later to say Hi!) and DS who will be 14 at the time of the cruise. This will be our 4th Disney cruise and our 1st Eastern Caribbean. We cruised on the Dream this past June and absolutely loved the ship and are excited about the Fantasy.

584 days from today...we'll get there eventually!

Dbenlee & I had to change the our dates for our 2013 cruise. We are now booked on the June 15. Hope everyone has a wonderful time.

We may be interested, I heard alot of refernce to Benard's too. Our kids will be 11 & 9 at cruise time...

I'm bummed:sad2: had to move our cruise date to August 10th. Thought the kids would be out of school but not quite. I would have taken them out early but my daughter said she couldn't miss her 8th grade graduation!!! I was shocked :scared1: what could be possibly be better than a Disney Cruise! :goodvibes

Enjoy yourselves!!!:thumbsup2

We may be interested too-although I wonder if there is something for us on the water-a catamaran trip or something. We sailed on a small sailboat (adults) in the Caribbean a few years ago, and just loved it. Being new to all of this cruise stuff...I have no idea what we want to do. My sons will be 8 and 5.5 at sail time.

On a different note...my husband is NOT excited about the cruise. He's going along with it (I'm the planner-and usually get my way ;)), and it is so far away, its hard to think about. But, he's afraid it will be crowded, not fun, and he will stand in lines for everything. Like, he wants to cancel. I'm thinking I won't have to cook, clean and entertain...and maybe will get some adult time too. We have a verandah and I keep telling him it will be great. Disney-don't let me down! :lmao:

I'm bringing a whole crew of people!

It will be my family's 5th cruise but the first time doing an Eastern.
We have connecting Category 10 ( we like the inside rooms!) It will be my husband, me and 4 boys- who will be 20,18,16,14

One group of friends will be in connecting Cat. 11s. It is their second cruise. It will be husband, wife and DS 15, DD 12 and DD10.

Another group of friends are in connecting 11s. They are husband, wife, grandma, DD 13 and DS 9. It is their first cruise!

We are on decks 7, 8 and 9- almost directly above/below each other!

I've been looking at the Turtle Cove sail and snorkle where you go out on a pirate ship looking boat and snorkle around. That is on the day in St. Thomas. I have read several reports that families have really enjoyed it, but I haven't made up my mind about that yet. All I really know is shopping is NOT our thing (go figure - with three boys:rotfl:), so we won't really be planning any time for that.

I'm super girly, but I hate to shop-good thing I have boys too :) If I do need to shop..online-a few clicks...done! Plus, I've been to St. Thomas-so I would love to be on the water and not in town. Although, it is a lovely island, what little I did see of it.

We will be on this cruise as well. It will be me, DH, DD (6), and DS(4). It will be our 3rd Disney cruise. My parents will be joining us as well. We have never been on the Eastern route so I'm unsure of what shore excursions we will look at. May be interested if we are looking at booking something as a group. We have also done the FE thing all three times and the kids really love it!

Hi everyone, we (my son and I) are booked on this cruise, super excited! This is our 4th Disney Cruise - first one to Eastern Caribbean and first one on one of the new ships. My son's 15th birthday is June 3rd so I want to come up with something super fun for that day.

We are booked in a 6B right on the back of the ship which I'm really looking forward to. I do have to say that I'm a bit aprehensive about being on such a large ship since we are used to the classic ships. For those of you have been on both the Dream and either the Wonder or the Magic, how much bigger did the Dream feel to you? What did you like best about the bigger ship?

I'm definitely interested in doing the FE gift exchange. We did that on our MR cruise in December and had a lot of fun doing it. For me it was nice to work on my crafting projects in the months and weeks before the trip. For Ryan it was nice that I wasn't constantly talking about the trip and asking what he wanted to lol.

We were looking at Disney excursions and are hoping are hoping to do the 12 meter regatta on St. Maarten and Coral World with the Helmet Diving in St. Thomas. Though after you guys started mentioning it, Bernards does look interesting and we could always do a private sailing lesson in St. Thomas.

We look forward to meeting you all!
Miranda
