Got it. I will add you right now and that will be 25 cabins.

I just posed a question on the FB page about starting a new list or just keep going and then splitting the list in half when we get closer to our cut off date. As of right now (may change though) it looks like we will just keep going and split the list into two smaller lists as our time gets closer.

I will add you and post the updated list on FB.

Hi,

I am a total newbie to cruising and to this site. I just learned about the fish extender tonight on Pinterest and wanted to see if a new list was started. Also if someone could explain the details of how this works or point me to where I can find the info. I just requested the FB page as well. In my cabin will be myself, DH, DD age 8 and other DD age 4. Also traveling with 2 other cabins but will have to see if they want to participate.

Hi Eryn,

I just approved your request to join the FB group. I am in charge of the FE group. I am still taking people who wants to join.

Depending on what everyone wants to do I will either split the group in half when we get closer to our cut off date of April 1st or I will just keep everyone separated into two groups depending on when they signed up. Right now your cabin would be #2 on the second group if we go that way. If anyone wants to be on the second group that is also on the first I will add them to both.

As far as how the FE works - you can either make or purchase your fish extender. I am sure you have seen photos of many of them by now. Our group is not getting all nutty saying you have to gift everyone in every cabin. Some people may do that - some like my family will do a cabin gift and then something very small for the children. Some may just do a cabin gift if that is what is right for their family. We just want this to be fun - not stressful or a financial hardship. So if you decide to join in do what you want and can and what is fun for YOU. Any and all gift are appreciated. Also for us we are just asking you do at least one gift per cabin - not per day. It is you choice if you want to do the individual gifts or not.

Once onboard you decide when you want to distribute your gifts. Some break it up into several days. Some do it all at once.

You will hang your own FE outside your cabin door. I would recommend securing it with a tie wrap or something similar to make sure it doesn't "walk" away. It doesn't happen a lot - but it does happen. Just bring a small pair of scissors with you to cut that tie on the last night or day when you want to take it down.

Also let me know for sure if you want me to add you and or the other cabins in your group. If you do want to participate let me know about any allergies or celebrations you have so I can note them.

Hey everyone. I posted a poll about how everyone wants to handle the FE list since it is growing so fast and getting to be pretty large.

I am not going to deny anyone before our April 1st cut off date - so I will either make two lists starting now with the risk of the 1st being large and the 2nd being small or I will split them.

So I got the email below from DCL - I think I'll wait a few weeks, then ask again to see if I get a different answer from someone else. Regardless, I can always hop over to the Help desk on June 1st and see what classes they have, and spread the news via FEs if people want to coordinate a class.

Melissa I just tried - twice. Not sure if it added you or not. I could see your posts - but I couldn't respond to them or even click on your name - it was just black not blue like the normal hyperlink would be.

I have no idea what is going on.

If for some reason when I added you it didn't work please request again and we can see if that works. If not is there someone else in your family (DH maybe) with a FB page and he could request to be added? I know that isn't ideal - but if it works - it works and you can see all that has been posted recently.

Hey everyone. I am opening up the second FE list to anyone on the first that would like to do both. My train of thought is that it is so much more fun to have a decent size amount of cabins participating - especially for our (well your ) children.

I was feeling a little sad thinking the second list would have 5, give or take a few, cabins and the first list would have 24.

So far we have 6 originally cabins on the second FE list with 2 cabins from the first joining them making a total of 8 cabins. If we can get a few more to join in and or if we get a few more new people/cabins on the list we can leave everything as is with 2 separate lists instead of combining and dividing (which might mess up some plans as they are on the ball and have their gifts done or completely planned).

Also since I am not sure all of you are on FB and/or are seeing my posts there I am going to put the list here for everyone. It is in a gallery on my smugmug site. You can access it here and download it as you wish. I will put it in a private gallery with a password so random people on my smugmug site do not have access to it - just those on this thread.

The password is Yo Ho Yo Ho (just like that with capital Y's and H's). Here is a link. I will post updates and let you know I have done so as they are made.
