June 1, 2008-Wonder Double-Dip

Hi everyone! I'm also going to be on the June 1 cruise with my DH and DS who will be 3.5. We just became DVC members and booked it using some bonus points. This will be my 9th Disney Cruise!

RRB - I was one of the Dorky Disney Cruisers - what a great group!

Hi Michelle !! What a coincidence. Welcome to DVC. We joined in 97 and love it. I just wish it didn't take so many points to cruise.

Randy

Yeah, Randy, it does take a lot of points! Although that is the reason we bought into DVC - to help with our cruise addiction! We figure eventually it will work out in our favor cost-wise. Too bad more of the DDC weren't joining us. Of all the cruises I've been on with DISers, they were my favorite! What a really nice group!

Can't wait to be back on the Wonder!

So how many are there of us?? Where is everybody from?

Randy

This is a quiet group compared to our last 2 cruises. :)

Well, the 90 day mark has come and gone. Hope everyone got the ressies they wanted. We aren't doing anything this time around so didn't bother. In fact, we still have to pay the cruise off in the next week or two.

Jim

I can't get two of the same spa ressies at the same time (one for me and my partner). I've tried several different time slots. I don't think they would only have one appt available for each time slot. Can't figure out why? I'm working with a TA -- should I e-mail Disney directly?

:confused3

I would go online and do it myself. No need to use a TA to book that kind of thing.

Unfortunately, we're first-timers and have to wait for the 75-day mark. Should I expect anything to be unavailable? Palo dinner? With that one I'm not sure how to plan what night I want. Since I don't know my dining rotation yet, I don't know what I'll be missing. Is night #4 the night we repeat one of the resuarants? Is that the most popular night for Palo?

It will be the third night that's the repeat, and that's the pirate night menu. So the rotations will be:

TAAP
APPT
PTTA

You won't know until you check in what rotation you have - it's printed on your Key to the World card. However, a general rule of thumb is for each seating (Main, Late) the earliest time is families with small children, the middle time is families with mid-age children, and the latest time is mostly adults. Of course, I can't remember which rotation is first... :confused3

Sorry - that probably didn't help much. :rolleyes1

I thought I read once that the rotation itself also has something to do with the ages in your party. We have had PTTA on all of our cruises. But, maybe it was just coincidence?

I don't see how they could base both rotation and seating time on the age of the party. That would mean families with small kids get the earliest seating one dining room, families with big kids get the middle seating at another dining room, while adults get the latest seating in the third dining room. So who's eating at the other seatings in each dining room?

I think I also read that it was the rotation that might be based on ages, but I'll see if I can find that again.

You're right - I meant each rotation. I got my terminology confused! :rotfl:

It's the same for each seating. We had late seating on our 7-night, but the first rotation and boy was it *full* of families with small children! There were a few families with older kids, but there were usually smaller kids in their parties as well. I don't remember seeing any groups of just adults.

We will be there also!!:cool1:

Me - Jeff
Wife - Jennifer
DS - Drew - 7 yoa
Leaving our DS - Zach with Grandma!! :woohoo:

Our fourth cruise but first DC cruise.

However, we are DW veterans!!:thumbsup2

Great to have you with us Jeff. Have you been reading about the Disney cruises here on the forum?

Hi, my name is Kayla. I am 6 years old. My grammy is stlkeeler. I am very excited to be going on the Mickey boat. Does anyone want to write to me so we can get to know each other before we go on the boat? You can email or IM stlkeeler to write to me.

We finally hit the 75-day mark for first-time cruisers, and I was able to try my hand at Palo reservations.

Night three was completely booked, so I was looking at night 2 (first day at C.C.). Any disadvantage to this over nights 1 or 4? Not knowing the dining rotation it seems night 2 would be the best second choice after night 3, right? Since those are the nights that repeat dining rooms. The only problem might be if we're talking about Animator's which has a show that doesn't repeat on night 3.

In any case, I think we will book Palo later (our normal dining time is Main dining). This will give us time to visit the regular dining room with the kdis if we want, and then send them to the kids club while we go to Palo.

Am I imagining this correctly?

We will be taking our first cruise on June 1, 2008. It will be myself, DH, DS10 and DD4. She will turn 5 on June 24. Is it okay to celebrate her birthday since it is the same month as the cruise. We are very excited. We will be staying at Port Orleans - French Quarters after the cruise. Since this is our first time to Florida everything I have read on the forums has been so helpful. Thanks for sharing your information and photos.
