Planning on family of five going to WDW for the first time Mid June for a little over a week. Does anyone know of discounts or the likelyhood of promotional discounts for June?

Sorry, mid-June has generally been excluded from general discounts. AAA is going to be your best bet.

We will be staying off site for the first time, because there are no good discounts in June.
If you don't mind staying off site you can get a great deal on a Condo.
We are paying $825 for 2 weeks at Windor Hills which is about 5 min. away from Animal Kingdom.

This is where I put my plug in for the All Star values resorts:thumbsup2 We go in June/July for anywhere from 7-11 days and never pay more than $100 total per night. That's cheaper than the chain motels around my hometown:confused3 go figure. We haven't gotten any breaks since 2004 during that time period, so I wouldn't hold my breathe. Get your room and then you can always adjust the reservation if something unexpected comes up. Tourism has truly recovered since 9-11, so don't hold off getting your resort for something that probably won't happen. By using our Disney VISA dollars and the DDE dining card, we still do alright with savings:woohoo:

Looking back on the history of discounts, AP discounts were offered in June for 2004, and 2005. Its possible that 2006 was an exception, and they may offer AP discounts for the dates you want.

fyi as to AS availability end of June - AAA standard rates are already in short supply (as well as at several Deluxe's) for our dates.:scared1:

Theming, bus service, food court, on-site percs etc. all are great; but I don't think $110 or so a night for a pref. location is cheap by any means; especially since they are the smallest hotel rooms I've ever seen - quite likely with the thinest walls too.:)

We are a family of 5 going in mid-June (absolute only time we can go) and we tend to be very budget conscious. I booked POR with AAA for about $200 less than booking rack rates through Disney. I also settled for Base tickets instead of hoppers which saved roughly another $200. Then feeling good about my $400 savings, I splurged $666 for 6 day DDP. We usually go cheap on food and end up worn out. This time the meals will be some of the main highlights of the trip, at least for me and DH.

This sounds like my family. We are a family of 5 staying at POR at the end of June. We saved $236 through AAA (8 nights). Since our children are young also (7, 6 & 2) we decided on the base tickets also. We will get our fill at each park even without hopping. The DDP sounds awesome for us and I have already made all our ADRs!!!

Sounds like we are out of luck this time around. We are going 6/16 and staying in moderate resort in park and included DDP, no park hopper options (two small kids). Sounds like discounts for that period are pretty much a long shot. Was worth a shot. Looking forward to visiting.

Don't let everyone get you down so quickly. I find it funny that people say "June is generally not discounted" when 2006 was the *first* year it wasn't discounted, and many people believe its because a large convention took up much of the rooms. That convention is in Disney this year.

I would love to find a Value resort for under $100. We are going in mid-june and are staying at the POP for $109 per night ($122 with taxes).
I am a FL resident and a passholder...how do you get a rate for under $100?

PS..We NEVER go over the summer, but we have family coming down. I am a Dinsey freak, but can honestly say I am not overly excited about going in June. Now, our trip coming up in April...I am counting the days!
