So glad forums are available for tips and advice! Thanks!

Taking my girls to DW for the 1st time ever 8/15 to 8/23. We are staying at POR and having the best time making plans!

They are soooooo excited! My youngest is 5 and she cannot wait to meet Ariel for the 1st time! The other 2 girls are 7 and 9.

This will be my 3rd time there with my hubby but it has been a long time. Our last trip was in 1996! We can't wait to experience all that is new!

What are the best character meals to book other than the castle? We want to do a late breakfast meal.
Also trying to decide between downtown disney or the boardwalk for our 1st night there since we won't be going into a park until the next day. Which would the girls enjoy more? I heard the boat ride from POR to downtown is nice.
Which waterpark is better since we can only do 1 of them. Even my 9 yr old is less than 48 inches, so which waterpark would they be able to do more things at?

Thanks for providing a forum for moms to get info from people in the know!

Welcome:banana:

Not sure about the character meals, I'll be going to one for the first time this Sept. We are doing the Pooh one.
As for boardwalk vs DTD, I would go with DTD. It's real kid friendly and so much fun.

Hope you and your family have a wonderful time on your vacation.

:welcome: Only 1 month left until your trip! Our two favorite character breakfasts are Chef Mickeys & Crystal Palace. Both have great food, good character interaction, and are fun places to eat. Chef Mickeys has Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy & Pluto. Crystal Palace has Pooh, Tigger, Piglet & Eyeore. Cape May Cafe is also a good character breakfast featuring Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale. Unfortunately you will probably have a very difficult time getting an ADR for Chef Mickeys, but the other ones you should have better luck with. Sorry I can't help you with your other questions, but I'm sure some fellow DISers will be chiming in to help ;) Have a great trip!

Our 9 yo DD loved breakfast with Lilo and Stitch (and Pluto and Mickey, too !). In fact, the whole family had a great time. Your girls would love it. Have fun !! :thumbsup2

Welcome!

I agree with others, got DTD your first night. There are a lot of shops and dining. Can get some great souvenirs there and hats for your days at the parks!

We have done several character breakfasts. We have done CRT twice and loved it. Done CP for breakfast and lunch, ALso done Ohanas for breakfast and Hollywood and Vine. They have all been worth it. We are trying a new on in October at BC since we're staying in the villas, Cape May.

Haven't done a water park with our girls yet. Went to Blizzard Beach in 99 and that was fun.

Enjoy your trip!

As for dining, are you looking for princess dining or any characters? DTD vs BW, I would go the DTD route with your girls. We love the Boardwalk, but first..getting there is more complicated and second..don't know if your girls would get enough out of it. DTD is a lot of shopping, if that doesn't sound good you could always try miniature golfing your first night there or resort hopping.

:smickey: WELCOME!
Chef Mickey's is great we too will be eating their on our upcoming trip...definitely go to Downtown Disney-the girls will love it - my kids like the park at Legoland....if you can make the girls appts at the bibbidid bobbidid boutique-every little girl wants to be made up like a princess....i hope you have a great trip! :wizard:
