OMG..it's almost here, and I'm so not ready!

I wish we'd talked to the big guy in the red jumpsuit at our last DIS babes lunch (no, not the waiter). Maybe if we had used our considerable charm we could have persuaded him to postpone the festivites for a week or two. We might have suggested appointing a commission to look into our proposal, encouraged a referendum, or, under the Desperate Measures Act, had Julie and Kathy take the reindeer hostage. :p

I'm off to the Mall (where everyone know my name) yet again. My list is still so long I may need to take two taxis. If anyone else is going to be there today, just look for the crazed woman covered in post-it notes. Don't be afraid to say Hello.....

How are your plans coming along? Have you untangled your tinsel, wrapped yourself silly, maxed out your Visa? Have you bought your Christmas day groaning board fare, or do you still need to elbow your way through the grocery store?

Jump in bed cover up your head....and don't forget to top that rum off with a little eggnog.... ;)

I'm still working on all of the above, Kim, so don't feel alone! LOL I think I WILL take your advice and maybe when I peek out from under the cover, it will all be done! ;)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

This is when a small family has it's advantages!NOT! It's worse this year 'cause we are not getting time off! I have to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday! Those are the days when I put the final touches on everything! Not this year! ACK!

I've already tried the "Hide Under the Covers" Routine, even pleaded and begged with the Cat to help! He has only figured out that if you pull on the Old Tinsel that are wrapped around the tree branches, you can still get a mouthful! Our tree now sits shrouded in a shawl during the day when noone is around to discourage him from eating the tinsel! I don't want to do what I had to do a few years ago! Not a Pretty Site!LOL

So, I will be joining all the few Million People this Saturday and Sunday to purchase the last minute items! God Forbid that what I have already bought DD is enough! She doesn't realize that we are going to WDW for Easter! Boy is she gonna be surprised!

Hope Everyone gets what they want! and gets everything done! But as in previous years, it always seems to fall into place!

Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to all!

PS Now pass the Rum!

Unfortunately the list of what I've done is way shorter than what needs to be done.

We have bought the tree and it's up but it's not decorated yet. Christmas china is out but half of it isn't put away yet. Some presents are bought but I haven't finished shopping yet and absolutely nothing is wrapped. Some groceries have been purchased but not all.

Have to work Monday and Tuesday -- hoping to take Wednesday off.

DS has promised to help clean on the weekend -- this is good b/c the dog has just taken a roll of toilet paper and papered the living room with it -- looked this morning and just walked out.

My goal this year is to be in bed by midnight on Christmas Eve with everything done. One year I was up til 6am!!!

I'd hide in bed but I have to launder the sheets too!!!!

It will all come together, I will be ready and I will be awake enough to enjoy it!!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Have you ever tried EggNog without RUM!

:crazy2: :scared1: :scared:

NASTY! Stuff!

Even Better, forget the Eggnog and just have the Rum!

Mmmmm rum.....But what about the Bailey's...can't forget that!

Well DH and I just returned from Limeridge Mall (and a ton of other stores....out since 9:30 this morning) Kim, but with the thousands milling about I didn't find you!:p

I'm done!!!!::yes:: All that's left is a ton of wrapping but I'll get to it......eventually.;)

We have a really busy weekend with visiting, company coming and DH's Birthday....BUT I will get everything done and in it's place by the time Santa needs to stop by our house.:wave2:

Hope you all have a great holiday and a few ???? rum and eggnogs too.

Boy you late shoppers Lisa and I have been done since late Sept besides a few things we picked up at WDW.

Darren, this is for you.....:p ;) :)

Sammi, I wish I'd known you were going to be there too, we could have gone for a Tim's java jolt. Of course, with how crowed the food court was, I'd probably have to sit on someone's lap. Gives a whole new meaning to my usual double-double order. ;)

You wrap your tree in a shawl, Janet? Still pleading with the cat? ;)

Sure there's rum, lots of it too, mbb! .....DH still needs to do some LCBO shopping..;)

I like eggnogg without rum. I made the mistake of buying some fat-free eggnogg last weekend. Yuck....like drinking yellow skim milk!!

Unfortunately Friday's shopping marathon turned out to be a very, very long day. After shopping DH and I went to my parents so I could show my Mom they gifts I'd bought (most of this shopping is her gifts to give to people). DH and I went home, and 15 mins. later my Dad calls to say my Mom is having chest pains. :( This is the first time this has happened!! We tell him to give her an aspirin and head back there as quickly as we can (they live quite close by), to take her to the hospital. The good news, no heart attack (prayers answered!), although they aren't sure what happened. She nodded on and off during the night, while we waited for test results etc. I sat in a chair, looking at her, and thinking about how much I love her. She is truly the center of the universe for my family, we adore her.

We got home at 5:30 this morning, tired, but so relieved. :)

After some rest this morning, it was back to the mall!! I think, I really think, I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!!

Sorry I was mistaken we have one gift left to buy and that is our new fridge for ourselves hehehe.

Oh my Kim! I do hope everything is okay with your Mom. How very scary a night for you!

I must say Janet, you've come up with some very novel ideas to deter your cat. The image of your tree wrapped in a shawl and your love seats covered in tin foil is hilarious! :p

Dh and I went to London today (meaning Saturday) and I got the last of my shopping done. I now have everything gift-wrapped too. So glad that's all over and done with for another year! All that is left to buy is wine, beer and Amarula (that's for me ;) ). I still have some Christmas baking to do and I thought I'd try to enlist the kids to dust and vacuum the house for me. I think I'm in good shape so far! :D

being sent your way Kim!

Let's hope it's just some indigestion from the Low Fat EggNog!

Keep us informed.

J - Here's something to add to your image. The cat must have tried something while we were out 'cause now the Angel is Peeking from the top! Looks like she is looking out for him! And he keeps knocking Mickey off the Reindeer!

Well it's off to the malls again today!

Happy Sunday!

Oh Kim I'm so sorry to hear of your Mom not being well and I wish her a speedy recovery and hope that whatever happened won't happen again.:( It must have been really scarey for you all especially at this time of year.Hope she's feeling better by now.:D

And yes we did stop in the food court and have a Timmies but we had a heck of a time finding 2 seats. Thank goodness all of the shopping is done now I have to start wrapping!::yes::

Merry Christmas to all!:wave2:

hope your mom is ok...we've spent a few of those "sit up all night" at the hospital ourselves...mom has a hiatal (sp?) hernia...not serious, but just feels exactly like all the heart attack symptoms...let us know how she is if you get a second:D

Love seats covered in foil, Scratch?....must have been before I started lurking!!

Happy Monday...2 Days Left!!:sunny:

It was not a pretty site after our last Easter Trip! The Cat took it out on my previous couch! And it had nothing to do with clawing it! He used it as his litter box!

Needless to say, I had to buy new furniture, therefore, foil to deter him from going on the couch. And to really keep him away, I had to have him "Snipped, Snipped" and he is now sent to the kennel! It's cheaper than replacing the furniture!

I guess my cat just does not like the MOUSE!

So is everybody ready?

Kim - hows your mom?

Keep well everybody!

My Mom is fine, thank you everyone, you're very sweet. :) We will be taking her for a complete physical after the holidays. The doctors didn't know what the problem was, only that it wasn't her heart. They were impressed with her lungs however, said they were in great shape for a woman her age (she's 81). :)

Almost finished my wrapping, and tomorrow I'm cooking the big guy. I decided to get that out of the way Christmas eve. :)

How's everyone else's plans coming along? It's almost time!!!

Here's a pic of my little Xmas train....:)

I'm glad to hear you Mom is okay, Kim! Maybe she just had indigestion? Hope all goes well with the tests after the holidays.

I love your little Christmas train! Is that all this year's presents? Wow, you sure were a busy little shopper!

I'll be cooking my turkey on Christmas Eve also. I've done that the last 2 years and it makes Christmas Day SO much easier!

All the gifts are wrapped and I have a couple of things left to bake today. I had a failure with my Beaver Dams last night though. I couldn't find the usual chow mein noodles that I use so bought some different ones not realizing they were the kind that had to be cooked and it just about broke your teeth trying to eat one of "dams". I had to pitch them all out. What a waste! I'm going to try another couple of stores in town and see if I can find the right chow mein noodles. Why do the stores have to change what they carry! :( I always make these and everyone will be so disappointed if they're not with all the goodies I set out.
