July weather

Hi all

Us five fly out on 8th July for 3 weeks in the Dom Rep, a bit of a lazy hols after last year round the parks.

I am looking to book as soon as we get back for POR again hopefully for July 09. Now, we went there the same time last year 11/07/07 for 3 weeks and the wether for the second half was a little disappointing. Did we just have bad luck or is it really that bad each July?

It is the easiest time for us to go, school, work etc..

you don't describe what you mean by 'bad'...
july weather in Orlando is typically hotter than hades with humidity hovering around 100%....
also, july has the most rainfall of any month of the year....(i think something like 7 inches)..

basically it rains every day...actually more like the sky opens and a wall of water comes down..
but usually this only lasts for about an hour (at about 4 to 5 pm every day)...
the rain is accompanied by an amazing sound and light show - more impressive than the best fireworks...

there are some years where it rains less, and some years where it rains more (rain lasts all day - but it usually doesn't)..

but the every day in the later afternoon thurderstorm is the usual...

but it is ALWAYS hot in july....you'll not escape that..

but you said you've been in july....so isn't that what you experienced?

Our relatives in Florida say that the weather has been much harder to predict in recent years ( a bit like in the UK ) and although July used to be guaranteed as scorching hot and humid with late afternoon thunder storms now it is getting more common for there to be some days of heavily overcast weather and prolonged rain.

I still think generally though it is more likely to be very hot with T storms.
