We have friends that are going to Disney mid July and we are thinking of tagging along with them (yes, with their permission :) ). They have a timeshare condo in Vacation Villages at Parkway and have reserved their week there. I would like to also stay there so the kids would be close by and could spend pool time, etc together.

I am somewhat new to the skyauction concept, but have read a good bit about it here and feel like I know the basics.

I did see there is a surcharge on the regular auction for Julys stays and someone mentioned there aren't any for the RSG auctions. Of course, there are not RSG auctions at Vacation Villages in July at this time.

My question is just asking opinions. Should I bid and pay the surcharge, which has still been a decent deal for a week in my opinion. OR, should I wait and try a RSG auction for the bigger room.

My concerns are that there won't be any of these available in July for RSG auctions. I read somewhere on this board that this particular resport is overbuilt, I kind of felt this played in my favor.

Any opinion is appreciated.

THANK YOU

just make sure you do not go for the partial kitchen auctions....

these one bedroom units are smaller than the FULL kitchen units

that is a tough call especially since skyauction posts things on a daily basis there really is no way to tell, i never go during july, there is a fee in addition to the 195 and the 15 and the bid?

I am looking at the partial kitchen ones. They are actually all I have seen for Saturday to Saturday stay.

There is only myself and my daughter. I am thinking with an electric skillet and/or griddle, the partial kitchen option will be fine.

There is a surcharge in July. Not my pick of month to go, but all that could be coordinated with summer camps, church youth camps, etc. I wish out school system has not moved to the week break in October and/or February, so we only have the summer for this type trip.

two weeks at skyauction for the units with partial kitchens two weeks ago , when skyauction contacted me with the confimations i got the bigger units with the full kitchen and the king size bed .. do you might be lucky ..
if you like the location and your friends stay there anyways i would say go for it ... i think it has some good reviews is not too old and only 5 minutes drive to the maingate !!
