July v. August - weather/crowds?

Hello - we can go either in July this summer or in August (but not the very end) - we could do up to middle of august. We have done end of august past two summers. We liked the lighter crowds, but it rained a lot. Is the weather any better in July than August? Also, how much more crowded is July to middle of August as compared to the end?

I've never gone in July before but I will be going the end of July this year. I went the end of August last year, August 18-25. I was sweating it out during Charley on the 13th. So this year, I decided to try to go before the hurricaines get too active in August. I don't know how the heat or crowds will be compared to the end of August though, just hoping to avoid the hurricaines!

I think August will be much stickier... July is just as hot, and they still have the daily thunderstorm. I think that's normal for June-August in Orlando... I would prefer July over AUgust. Last year we went from 6/26-7/5... Our last day in the park was 7/4, and the crowds were insane, but I heard the following week they died down a little. Still regular summer crowds though...sorry I'm not too much of a help!

Been to WDW the 2nd week of August and amazingly, the crowds were bearable. Crowded yes...but overly so...no. Last year, we went the last week in July and it seemed more crowded. Heat was the same. The rain...well, it's Florida and it *will* rain so it won't matter what summer month you pick! LOL
