FURTHER TO MY LAST THREAD WE HAVE DECIDED NOT TO GO AT EASTER. WE NORMALLY GO IN AUGUST BUT WOULD NEED TO GO EARLIER IN THE MONTH THAN WE NORMALLY DO.

OUR OPTIONS AT PRESENT ARE 10TH JULY FOR 3 WEEKS OR 10TH AUGUST FOR 3 WEEKS. HAVING NEVER BEEN IN JULY BEFORE, IS IT BUSIER THAN AUGUST (WE USUALLY GO LAST WEEK OF AUGUST/FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER)?

WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK??

I've not been in July - but my guess is that the tree weeks from Aug 10 would be better as the schools go back in the States sometime around the middle of August. We went to Florida on 20th August this year and the crowds were minimal up until Labour Day weekend (1st weekend in September). We'd certainly go at that time of year again!

The last two weeks of August are quieter than July and the first half of August as most American schools return mid-August. Given a choice I would therefore prefer August.

Regards

Rob

Another vote for August here! The last 2 weeks are usually pretty quiet in the parks compared to July. Last August we went (2002) we walked on almost everything until lunchtime and even after lunch we rarely queued for more than 10-15 mins.

Agreed, between July and August, August is the play because of the school issue...though I always warn folks....if you CAN go at ANY other time of year, do it because of the weather.

The hot humid weather can really get to you (and your kids, if applicable) if you are not used to it, on the other hand, if it's so novel to you, who knows, you might enjoy it!

Personally, I would avoid Florida the 6 months from May-October, but that's just me!
