Hi everyone-

My friend would like to plan a trip to disney in July 2002. She was quoted an rate of 1500 per person from a travel agent...which includes, air, hotel, tickets, and some meals for 7 days.

What were the prices for July 2001... like airfare(from the Philly area) and hotel. She said the All-Star would be fine for her. All-Star lists it's rack rate for Peak season at $104...is that what it should be?

I seem to think if she waits she can get a better deal per person. I guess I am kinda jaded when it comes to this stuff because I always go off season and I am a DVC, DC, and AP holder.

Thanks In Advance
Jennifer

Is she using a travel agent that only books Disney trips? With a little research and energy she may be able to do her own "package" and save herself some money. Sometimes waiting has its advantages. She can always book the room and apply discounts at a later date. Our family of 5 was able to do Disney for 5 days for the amount that one person is doing Disney for 7. Even if you add in airfare (which we always drive) that is still more than they should be paying. I doubt she is going to get $49 rates during peak season, but she may be able to get something. She could also wait to see what the airfares are going to be. Airfares are the hardest part because most tickets aren't refundable and most airlines won't give you anything back if you book your flight and then they drop the rates.

She could use one of the "Disney only" travel agents (not the *Disney* travel agents, but one that specializes in Disney vacations) to see if she can get a better rate. It is the travel agent's job to assure you the best for the least.

Thanks for the reply and the suggestions! 1500 per person seemed a bit high to me. I believe she is going through a regular agent. I am trying to encourage her to wait and put some more effort into it.

Thanks again
jennifer:)
