My girlfriend and I are going to DLP from 15th to 19th of July. I know it will be very busy, but I am wondering - will this affect our experience? Will we have to wait hours and hours for rides? Im hoping that the large numbers of people can be ignored so we can enjoy our holiday.

For the past few years I've always gone in July -- it isbusy but if you plan properly you won't be waiting hours & hours for the rides.
So my advice -- plan ahead what you'll be doing (like Fantasyland is the busiest land so maybe get in there as early as you can one morning and do as much as that as you can) and take full advantage of the FASTPASS system, which they have for most of the busiest and most popular rides like Big Thunder Mountain, Peter Pan's Flight and Space Mountain.

I second Rachel's advice, get in to the parks early in the morning and get use Fastpass. Disneyland park will be open late as from the 14th July, the extra hours in the evening really help. :goodvibes

Most of our trips are in the summer months. Early park entry and good use of Fastpasses will ensure that you have a magical time.
With a 4 night stay remember you don't have to do it all in one day :goodvibes

How much better are weekdays vs weekends in July? :confused3
Parks swell considerably with day trippers over the weekend. If you can work it mid week visits are quieter :)
