July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

I just found one of our "for sure" excursions: Los Veranos Canopy Tours. Over 10 zip lines! (think George of the Jungle). I read about it at cruise critic. Everyone raved about how much fun it was for ages 6-86. Even those scared to death of heights had a blast. :cool1: Woo-hoo, one excursion down, ?? to go.

We're considering doing Los Veranos too but I do have a fear of heights and just don't know if I can do it. So we keep flip flopping between the pirate cruise and the zip lines.

I would love to go to some of the adult cabaret shows in the evening. I just need to convince DD12 to go to the clubs. Last cruise she went only once and hung out with me the rest of the time. She claims she's not going to the clubs this time either. Guess I'll have to bribe her.

It's sounds like we have complete consensus on the "we don't really dance" thing. We do love comedy, however, and they usually have a couple of comedians that do shows before the dance band comes on.Chris

Not so fast, Chris -- Stu and I are into the theme nights at the club and really like to dance the night away (and the calories)!

Sorry, Val. Didn't mean to jump the gun. At least in the context of this group, it appears you guys will have plenty of room on the dance floor!! I guess the rest of us will be by the pool nibbling on cheese and sipping wine.

Chris

Hey, everybody! Dreams Unlimited has the shore excursions for ALL 3 PORTS posted on their web site. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Go to the cruise line main page and then click on the port. Puerto Vallarta excursions are listed, but no prices yet. Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas show excursions and prices. None of this is on the DCL website yet! :rolleyes1

Also, I "talked" to Randi in Mazatlan and she said she has 13 cruisers from the Magic booked. I think we have that many accounted for right here! :D It should be really fun!

I was up late last night (well, late for me) perusing all of the excursions. I thought I knew what I wanted to do but now I'm really confused about what to do in Puerto Vallarta. I hadn't really given Las Caletas much thought before but now it's looking really good. And Disney is offering the pirate cruise too. pirate: And there's also an excursion to the Paradise Village resort which has cool pools with water slides.

In Cabo I just plan on going to the beach that's across from the dock. There are some nice hotels there and vendors on the beach that rent jet skis and do parasailing.

And we already have Randi reserved for Mazatlan. She currently has 13 riders? I was guessing 15 based on what I see here. Do some of you not have everybody in your group going? I keep imagining showing up to ride with Randi and she doesn't have our reservation! And I'm so looking forward to riding with her! :Pinkbounc pirate:

Sheila, you read my mind!!! I also thought there were a couple missing, so I e-mailed Randi this morning looking for confirmation for the 4 of us. I know Kim is 4 total, so how many are in your party? Right now, we are leaning towards Las Caletas but I have to agree that the Paradise Village resort sounds nice.

We have 4 also going to Randi's so that makes 12. I should probably print out the email she sent me back saying I was confirmed so I can bring it with us.

We're sad the dueling pianos went away. That was the only nightlife thing (besides the shows) we did. We will go see comedy shows before the dancing. And, a cheese platter by the pool sounds wonderful.

Thanks for the head's up regarding excursions. Besides Randi's, I think we'll do the Snorkel & Sail Fiesta (3.5 - 4 hours) in Cabo. That leaves Puerto Vallarta (sp.?) and maybe we'll just go shopping and relax. I am sure there is a place that tells us what time we get in and depart. I would like time to do shopping in each port.

We have 3 riding with Randi so that should be 15! I think I'll send her an email too just to confirm.

Oh, and according to my calculations, we need to average 7 posts a day to get to the 90 pages that Chris is looking for. Sounds easy enough. I would like a Bahama Mama please!

Ever since my little mix-up with Lori and Kim, I've been keeping a little spreadsheet of names, spouses, kids, anniversaries, etc. as new people post. I use it to avoid being guilty of any virtual spouse-swapping or kid exchanges. If any of you are interested in having this little cheat-sheet, PM me and I'll e-mail it to you.

Sheila,
If we hit 90 pages, I will be more than happy to buy you any beverage you want. If Bahama Mamas are your thing, you might have to change your screen name from GrumpyMom1 to HappyMom1!!

Sheila - I'll let you know when I hear back from Randi, and hopefully we can get this confusion worked out!! It sounds like it's going to be all of us who will be going, since I don't think she takes much more out in a group. Hopefully she didn't forget one of us, (or mine or Kim's kids) in the total.

Chris - we wouldn't accuse you of anything!! Though, that spreadsheet is a GREAT idea. Sometimes I find myself scrolling back to place the real name with the screen name, though I'm beginning to get better. I really can't wait for this sailing, and obsess about it almost daily.

Chris...that is so funny! I've been keeping my own little cheat sheet right next to the computer!! :earboy2: I'd love a copy of yours so I can cross reference! I'll send you a PM!

I'm still torn about what to do in PV also! Las Caletas looks favulous, as does Paradise Village...but I don't know if we can pass up the dolphin swim and encounter! I'm glad I still have some time before the 90 day mark to make these decisions!

Sheila--have you used the vendors on the beach in Cabo for parasailing before? DH and I parasailed once in San Diego...and I know it's something we'd love to do again! Would like to know if you go up off a boat or if they hook you up and pull you up off the beach. DH is a little worried about the safety of parasailing in Mexico.

Kim

I sent an e-mail to Randi the other day to confirm our reservation...that's when she told me there were 13 riders. Everyone booked for July 13th, right--isn't that the day we are in Puerto Vallarta? I hope I didn't book the wrong day! Let me know when you guys hear back from Randi.

Kim

All of us riding with Randi, don't worry. I just got an e-mail from her confirming my reservation, and she said that there are 15 riders (the number we expected). So, we're all confirmed!!! Randi told me she is so excited the Magic is coming, and she can't wait to see it!!!

In fact, regarding the little on-board party I mentioned in an earlier post, one of the things you all can count on is an informal wine-tasting being part of that, for those of you that enjoy trying wines. We will choose the wines in advance and bring them on the ship in carry-on luggage. If you like wine, I can personally guarantee that we'll be hitting high numbers on the yummy-meter :drinking: :drinking:

If Lori is our cruise director, then I get to be the group sommelier!!.
Chris

An informal wine-tasting party? Sounds like fun; count me in! I may need to make a run to the Temecula Wine Country for a couple bottles of my favorite wines.

I'm hoping shoes aren't required to attend!

Nah, shoes are definately optional attire, at least for a pool-side party. I don't want to speak for Chris and Cheri who are so graciously inviting us into their "home" on the Magic.

Soccerdad-Chris,

I would love a copy of your spreadsheet. I'll PM you.

BTW, will they deliver the cheese platter by the pool or only to the room (and all room service for that matter--a mickey bar by the pool would be great).
