Just back from WDW. DH's parents took the whole family (24 of us and counting) for a family trip. We stayed at the All Star Sports (the only place worth staying aside from the fact that it saved father-in-law between $15,000 to $18,000 versus a monorail hotel). I'll just give a few thoughts on the trip but will be MORE THAN HAPPY to answer any questions you have.

Best meal - Crystal Palace July 4th dinner - always good and better this time than every

Worst meal - 1900 Park Fare Cinderella's Feast July 2nd dinner - what a disappointment this was. We had 33 at dinner, and the food was absolutely awful, and the characters uninspiring.

Yikes Commando.... can we have some more details on the Park Fare disaster.... what kinds of food did they have and what were the problems?

Also what was up with the characters? ~ I heard the Fairy God Mother was great.

>>^..^<<

The only food I found acceptable was the prime rib. The food just seemed bland to me. Even the desserts were poor. The characters just seemed flat and a bit too casual. Serrvice was lousy. Only saw our waitress once. Didn't see Fairy Godmother since we had the first seating, and she arrived after we did. (She stands outside to greet). Maybe we just caught the restaurant on a "bad night."

I had the unfortunate experience of having dinner there on 6/28. I agree with commando, the food was very bad, the character interaction was only so-so - but I did get to see the Fairy Godmother after a 15 minute wait in line, and the service was lacking. We did the breakfast on 7/5 and it was only slightly more enjoyable. We went to 9 character meals total during our 13 night stay (last 7 nights were at the GF) and our 2 meals at 1900 Park Fare were without a doubt the worst.

Commando ~

Sorry to hear that your experience was not more positive at 1900 Park Fare ~ We are eating here for breakfast and dinner in October and I hope that the food has improved by then.

We were in the MK last July 4th and I can honestly say I have never seen so many people in one place at one time, the park was packed!!!

Oh, I am sorry y'all were disappointed!
Have either of you with the bad experience at Park Faire contacted guest relations? As a parent of a little one who loves the character interaction, if it is slipping, I think they need to be aware of it so it can (possibly) be corrected.

Wow! Sorry to hear about your disappointment in 1900 Park Faire.
We ate there on 6/21 & had a wonderful supper. The characters were all awesome. Cinderella could have been a little more cheery but the Fairy Godmother & Prince more then made up for her.
My son must have been talking to the Fairy Godmother for a good 5 minutes, there was no one else waiting in line. She was wonderful & sweet.

Sorry you had such a bad time, maybe you just got them on a bad night. What time was your ressies at? Mine were at 5:00pm, one of the first of the evening.

Jacksonsmom, we had the 4:30pm seating (when it first opened). Wish I had better news to report, but I see I'm not the only one who was less than thrilled with Cindy's Gala. Wasn't too much of a gala...more like cafeteria food. Maybe we expected too much. Hope your experience is better.

We were at Park Fare on July 1. We had terrible service. the waitress brought our drinks and never came back until she brought the bill. It was the worste we ever had there. It is usually one of our favorite places. Character interaction was also lacking this time. The food was good, although they seemed to have trouble in keeping up with it. The deserts were also lacking compared to before. We went to Crystal Palace and had a much better experience. I would still give Park Fare another chance, since we have always enjoyed it before.

Our dinner ps was for 6:00 and the breakfast ps was for 10. I know that both days there were no ps's or walk-ins available. I hope it was just a "bad week" for them. It was 4th of July week and things were so busy and crowded. It's nice to hear that someone had a positive experience.

Sorry to hear people had a poor experience at Cinderella's Gala Feast.
Maybe they were 'off' because of the 4th of July crowds? Although that is not an excuse, they should be attentive no matter what day it is.

I know my experience with them was very good. We even want to go back so I hope my good experience wasn't a "fluke"
