July 4th crowds

Just curious what the daytime crowds are like July 4th. And also the 2-3rd. Last minute decision to visit DL over the holiday and I am worried it will be too crowded. We leave by 6pm on the 4th so will avoid the crowds for the special fireworks.

They usually aren’t too bad. The only area that can become a bit of a mess is that the Esplanade gets packed with people that are there to just watch fireworks and don’t have park tickets.
