July 4th Celebration?

Due to my husband's work, we are very limited on when we can take a family vacation this Summer. Looks like we may be considering a Universal/Disney trip beginning Friday, July 4th. If we are going to be stuck with the holiday crowds, I would prefer to be at THE best July 4th celebration. Any thoughts on whether that is on the Universal side or the Disney side?

Any details you can share would be appreciated.

If you're looking for fanfare and fireworks, I have to say that you'd probably be better off at Disney on the 4th of July. You'll have 3 parks to choose from, each with a special fireworks event for the holiday. However, be prepared for the accompanying crowds.

I love Universal, and Cinematic isn't a bad show, but the nighttime spectacular isn't their strength. I think part of the reason for that is because the parks were build adjacent to existing residential communities which probably limits what they can do as far as pyro, even on nights like July 4 and New Year's Eve.
