Has anyone ever been to Disney for the 4th? How are the crowds, airfare and such?

WDW is always crowded, but is most crowded during the 4th and Christmas. I have no clue about airfare because I wouldn't even dare going during the 4th.

July 4th travel -- it's a peak period for Disney. You'll pay peak rates and you'll pay a premium price to get there usually.

Crowds will be nuts. That's not to say don't go.. but that's to say expect the crowds.

On the bright side, the parks are open LATE.

DH and I went over the July 4th week. We stayed away from Magic Kingdom and spent the day at Epcot. MK had the same fireworks on July 3rd so we did the park that day. It was well worth it. MK was closed at 10:00 AM to people not staying on site. I would do it again.

The crowds will be insane. Expect 60-90 minute waits on everything!!!

They will not be as crowded, but it will still be very high volume.
