Wouldn't that be like celebrating Thanksgiving on the Wednesday---or how about just moving Christmas day to Dec 15th- or Halloween to Oct 29th?? LOL---nope never heard of moving the day a holiday is celebrated

We celebrate Thanksgiving the weekend after with my side of the family, same with Christmas. Growing up, one of my uncles was a minister, so we always had to work around the actual religious holidays, because he needed to be at church. Easter was never on easter sunday at Grandma's house.
Our town does the merchant trick or treating a day or two before or after halloween. Never on the actual holiday. You can trick or treat for several days in a row here.
In my family.. it's not about the date, it's about the family. The gathering. Ect.
I put "other" because we celebrated July 5th due to half price fire works. It was a budget thing this year, but I could get used to doing it every year.
