July 3rd Heat Break and Fastpasses

Hi everyone,

My plan is to be at the Magic Kingdom for fireworks on July 3rd. I am booking Fastpasses right now and trying to decide what to do that day. My son does not really like the heat (yeah we picked the worst time to go) so the original plan was to go to the park in the mornings, leave for a bit in the afternoon to cool down and then come back. I am worried that we might not be able to get back in if we leave on the 3rd and I really want to catch the fireworks.

Do you feel we need to just show up and suffer through the heat during the afternoon to make sure we are there for the fireworks or do you feel that we would be able to go in the morning, leave and still make it back in if we come back to the park around 5?

Are you staying on property? Are you AP holders?

If you said "yes" to either of those then you have nothing to worry about with getting back into the park.

If your going into the park on a single day ticket, that's when I wouldn't recommend leaving.

Sorry yes, we are staying on site at ASM. I have heard that it might fill up enough that they won't even let resort guests in by the end of the day.

There are different phases of closure. I don't know it'd reach the level where resort guests can't come in.

But even if so, you don't need to leave in the afternoon if you don't want to. There are so many attractions that are perfect for the mid-afternoon, where you can stay nice and cool. CoP, Philharmagic, Buzz, Laugh Floor, Ariel, Storytime with Belle, HM, Space...or even get wet on Splash.

We did the 4th a couple of years ago and we didn't leave (we were off property). What I did was plan a long TS lunch. We used that as our break time and then following our lunch we had our 3 FP. There was just something about knowing we didn't really have to wait in any lines once we ventured back out that made the afternoon heat manageable. Yes, Splash was one of our FP!
