July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

Good Morning

There is a thread about the baltic cruises that people have mentioned they have booked precruise hotels in London already.

This got me thinking and I decided to call DCL regarding their pre cruise package and I thought it was pretty reasonable.

I have booked air through DCL and I was hoping to change to arriving a day before the cruise which I understand is an additional custom air charge for the European cruises which I think is $100 per person. If you book the pre cruise hotel, it includes the change to the airfare, also the hotel and transfers from the airport to hotel and then to the port.

I also understand that finding 1 room that holds 4 people in Europe is hard to do. Of the 3 hotels that DCL is using in London, only the Rennasaince was able to have one room and that was $758, the other 2 hotels would require 2 rooms and that cost was over $1100.

So I look at it that it would cost $400 to change the airfare to arriving a day early, probably $100 to get from the airport to the hotel in London and that leaves $258 for the hotel, which I figure is pretty reasonable for London.

I will keep my eye open for airfare/hotels on my own, but flying into London and out of Barcelona for this summer seems to be pretty much in line with what DCL is charging for 2010.

MKMommy,

The DCL air package includes the transfer from the London Hotel to the Port in Dover? I was guessing that we would have to make these plans ourselves. Disney using busses or the train for the transfer?

Thank you for posting this information. It certainly helps to have travel details when trying to plan a trip overseas.

It includes the 2 legs of transfers in London. Airport to hotel on the arrival day in London and then, hotel to the port on July 30. I am assuming it will be coach transfers, from the hotel to the port, but I am not sure about the airport to hotel, as I am sure people will be coming in from all over and at all different times.

Odds are my husband will not be travelling with us on this trip, and being able to stay at a hotel that will have DCL transfers from the Airport and to the Port will make things much simpler for us.

Hello

I have not booking the hotel in London and the Dover too....

I am planning on travel on our own, we will go by train from Scotland to London then catch another train to Dover the day before our Cruise... We have decide that we are not staying in London...

We will book one way flight home from Barcelona to Edinburgh, Scotland... also we will find the hotel for 3/4 nights after cruise... but too early to book it...

Will book it by this summer/winter...

My mother and father inlaw still want to come with us so we wait and see...

The Derby was a most interesting race. Of course you never know what to expect in the mud.

The Oaks was an amazing race. The filly was unbelieveable.

So sorry to hear you had to cancel but I am sure with the new ships there will be plenty of new Disney Cruise opportunities!

I had my TA book my pre-cruise hotel in London. She also said that Disney will probably be offereing some London Tour options, but if not she would look into that for me --I really want to see Buckingham Palace -- but then who doesn't! I will let you know if I get anymore information.
