We're goin July 30, 2006 Disney Wonder!! Just me (single Mom) and my 10 year old daughter and 6 year old son. Yay! Cannot wait! We made a countdown calendar today. This is a special special trip for us. I just had surgery June 14 to have a tumor removed. The chances were fairly high that it would me malignant because of cancer in 2000....it was just about assumed that this was a recurrence and I needed to prepare for chemo etc. again. I was so sure that I was going to be ok that I booked this cruies on June 13th the night before my surgery. Pathology came back nice and clean and benign!!!!!!! Ill be easy to spot Im sure...I'll be the one with the huge scar on my neck(along with a huge smile)....its a scar that signifies that Im HEALTHY so I dont mind it at all!! WooHoo!!!!

Awesome! My sister-in-law went through the same scare, once in 1999 and then again 3 months ago, but everything was removed cleanly - the only reminder being 2 "shark bites" to remind her of her health. See ya on July 30th!

Bethesda17, where are you flying in from? We're flying in from LAX on the 29th. It will be me and my hubby and 4 kids (1 1/2, 5, 7, 9).

MaxCom, yay for you! I'm so glad everything is great with you. My ds5 is going through chemo for leukemia right now. He was diagnosed when he was 3 1/2 and he's been in remission for a over a year now. He'll be done with his treatment on Feb. 4, 2008. It might just be cause for a celebration on a Disney Cruise!

The July 30 cruise is his Make a Wish trip. The kids have never even been on an airplane!

I hope to meet you and the rest of the people on this thread there!

We are flying out of LAX the 29th as well! I havnt rcvd the flight info from Disney yet though so I dont know flight/times etc. I bet we will end up meeting at one time or another this trip!! Im so glad you get to go..we had the foundation send us on our 2000 cruise and it meant so much to us all. Im looking forward to this cruise..its going to be wonderful!! For you too!

My daughter is age 10..Im sure our girls will meet in the kids clubs..what fun! SIX times!! You are 'duck lucky' as my youngest would say. This is the second cruise for my me and my daughter but the first for my 6yr old son.

Part of our group is flying in July 26th, the remainder July 29th. We're flying from LA, Oakland, Rhode Island and Chicago.

This is what we were saying all day long. "One month from right now we'll be on the cruise doing.........."

I'm starting to get nervous about packing, etc! But, we can barely wait!

I want to pack already! Ive been putting all the things I bought for the trip in one closet and then I just have clothing to worry about..or so I think..right! My parents are coming into town to babysit the dogs so its going to be hectic (crowded)around here the two days before we leave..can you believe Im totally bugged about that! I just know my mother is going to follow me around the house not only because I dont do anything right around here (her way) but I bet I will be packing ALL WRONG..see..Im bugged! Ha..which is why I should pack now to avoid the upcoming 'follow-fest' my mom embarks in once a year when visiting. We are going to Pirate Cove in shoreline Long Beach today..you can see it online..if theres anything you want me to check out let me know. Im about 6 miles from there so I could go there anytime if needed!

I am so ready to go on this trip! I went out a bought "pirate party" outfits for my daughter and myself today - my husband just keeps rolling his eyes on how much time I'm spending on this website. A quick FYI from a family who uses a ton of sunscreen - the spray-on stuff from coppertone works great! We use a 30 spf (or higher if we're going to be out all day) and haven't had a sunburn since we started using it last summer for a week in the keys. If you don't have a tan, make sure you get in about 10 minutes of sun every day, so that you can avoid the lobster look!

We're going to a party store to buy pirate "stuff" this week. The list I've been keeping is now looming over my head! Yikes!

We also bought 2 cases of water bottles and they are HEAVY! I think we'll only take one though. Maybe we'll throw some in the kids backpacks and our carry-ons.

Less than a month to go! I can't believe it!

Has anyone from this sailing received any cruise docs yet? Should we have received something by now?

We received our docs last Friday - delivered by Fed Ex, but we're only 30 minutes from the cruise terminal and less than an hour from Disney World, so that might play a part in the timing of when you get them.

We got our doc's yesterday! Our outgoing nflight out of L.A. is at 6am!! Oh well thats ok..worth it! Getting really excited...the kids have a calendar they made for countdown and its gettin closer!
