Sandra

I had problems a day or so back as you describe, but Today I was able to get in without a problem, that was this morning here about 10am.

Also funny, I couldn't get into the Hard Rock café, or Pisa websites this morning, but was able to later, some INTERNET link must have been down.

Geez, you guys, I was off for about 14 hours and I had 15 pages to get caught up - slow down!!
Yes confirmation the same time,

the copy and paste was with help of Kelsie at Dreams.

At this point I would like to acknowledge the great help of Kelsie and Dreams in supporting me in obtaining the group brunch she did a lot of work for me, ( again) she was the one who also obtained a great room for me on the E/bound repo in 2008, when the cruise was released and the sales went mad.
Andrew, are you a DVC member? Or do you pay for your cruises? We did one cabin on points and paid for one - trying to decide if we need a Dreams TA for next time.

Hey Isabel - I just did that today. I made the HORRIBLE HORRIBLE mistake of taking my DD's back to Marshall's to return my sherbert colored suitcases ( :sad1: ) well one of them anyway. So I returned and got back $225.00 dollars. What I got in return as I was making a last minute lap was a pair of Aerosoles heels that I just bought 12 days ago at $30. They were at another Marshalls for $22. A savings of $8 before taxes.

"Why are you buying another pair - you already have those?"

I looked at her and said - "no I don't."

Morale of the story: Don't take Dudley Do-right with you when exchanging and or hedging your purchases.

(For those that don't know who Dudley Do-Right is - he is a cartoon character of the Royal Mounty Police who is a do-gooder who cannot live with injustice sometimes to the peril of those around him.

Oh And the worst part of the story? Those savings I got from returning items? DD's made me buy them these "Oh look mom - these will go perfect for the cruise and if we share the clothes we can get quadruple wear out of them."

:headache: :headache:

Its hard to argue with that. Oh and here's another theory that only a mom of similar siblings can relate too.

If an item cost $40 dollars but 2 people can get use out of them - its actually like paying only $20 for each as opposed to $40 for each. Does this make sense to anyone else? Or have I just been up too many late nights in a row?
Back to savings - the original $225 I got back? I spent $221. :sad2:

Second morale of the story - don't take girls shopping with you. You get nothing.
Out of the mouth of babes!! I love the reference to Dudley - haven't thought about him for quite awhile!
I had a friend who used to figure out her "cost per wear" of shoes - it helped her feel better about her purchases - actually she did it so that if her husband bugged her about them, she could say, oh, but the cost per wear is only . . .
I wish I could trade clothes with my daughter!!

Good morning everyone -

I will be on and off all day - today doing the usual (cleaning up/running around :scared: )

Sandra, Fish extender - we will not be participating. I am still hoping to make a door sign (even thought at first I had decided not to)
Sandra, I will be doing the family gift bag, I won't be doing the fish extenders. Too much for me - maybe next time!

Thank you for sharing.

Julie- It was worth every penny- I have had the same phone for three years now- just a plain ordinary cell phone- I was one of those people who thought things like this are ridiculous- but I cant believe how fantastic this device is- We are going to a communion party today- we will probably be sitting in traffic for 2 hours or so- now I have the world at my fingertips- all my music, two movies, my podcasts of our cruise, which I have not had time to watch- but now I will since I cant clean, do laundry, or other things that need to be done around the house, in the car, without feeling guilty!!!

Its an early birthday gift from my one in a million husband who you will love- he is a great all around human !!!!
No sales or service of iPhone in Montana - do they think we live in the boonies???

Thanks Joann, I'll make a note to do this as early as we can. I'm waiting for the next set of 11 day Navigators to come on line. I think that will give us a better indication of what DCL in case they made adjustments.

Maryann
I was hoping to print out some recent navigators too!

I've come to the conclusion that the fact that we breathe AIR embarrasses them! It doesn't take much.

Maryann[/quote]

That is absolutely the truth! Although I do find it gets better. Now that DS & DD are adults, they just shake their head or roll their eyes. They did get more accepting of my nuttiness! Then, we don't go out in public together much anymore. Wonder why????:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Maryann
It sure is fun to try though!! I thought our 'nuttiness' made us fun??

That is very wise. We always did that on vacation. The kids took money they earned through the year or given to them by grandma/grandpa and that's what they spent. It reallly cut down on the "I want that" when they had to spend their OWN money. They really became good shoppers when it was THEIR money they were spending and not ours. It cut out the "I have to have it" and then they didn't bother with it again.

Maryann
Easter Bunny gave some cash this year for Europe. DD blew it on clothes - like I don't buy her enough clothes anyway????

OK Helen,

You're in charge of ordering at 4Gats!!!! You are much father along in Spanish than I am! I'm going to add yours (and Andrew's Parla Angels? -maybe the most important one:rotfl: ) to my list!

Maryann
I went to Norway my junior year of high school. My step father spoke english-norweigan (his own special blend) I learned how to say "i don't understand anything"

Thank you Sallie!

It's funny, the main reason DSIL didn't want to go was that he didn't want to fly over the Atlantic. He also said he didn't want to go to London as he was nervous about bombings, etc. Almost like he had a premonition.... I'll give him a call now.

Maryann
At least you can get ahold of him. DH didn't think we needed to worry about cell phones in Europe, but I purchased some anyway - just in case!!

I SOOOOOOOOO completely agree with this comment. WE MUST NOT LET THEM WIN BY PUTTING OFF OUR NORMAL PLANS AND ARRANGEMENTS
Yes, I am very glad we are getting in early. I've read some articles about Marianne Pearl and she was adament that she not give into what the terrorists want - very brave woman.

I believe, and don't quote me on this, that the next generation iPhone will be able to do laundry and other household chores, so you'll have even less reason to feel guilty.

From my experience, the paperwork to receive the refund (and even determine if you're entitled to one) was inspired by our IRS - i.e., it's so complicated that most people never bother.
Sounds like it from what I've read.

I have no problem with terrorists who burn/blow themselves up. It's the fact that they often take people with them that annoys me.

Watching the news just leads to stress and depression. It's much healthier to ignore this stuff. Watching the nightly news by Jon Stewart or Steven Colbert most nights is more than sufficient.

No I am not a DVC member but if I could go back in time I would have been, I would have saved a lot.

Dreams have been very very good to me over all the years, people consider price a lot, but Service is also very important, they are very good at that and I wouldn't be on the 2008 Repo without Dreams.

Honestly, as much as DH & I want to be away from home, etc. it is sure nice to be able to stay in contact. My kids called from Scotland today and it was very nice to hear their voices and that they were OK. So even though cell phones are like an umbilical cord to home, it sure is nice to have.

Maryann

I'm glad you were able to talk to them and reassure yourself, Maryann.

Great they are fine.

By the way, Andrew, thanks for mentioning the Hard Rock Cafe and reminding me about that -- I was able to make priority seating for the 27th when we are likely to be tired and jet lagged and Hard Rock in Placa de Catalunya will be just the ticket . . .

Andrew & Julie:

Oh I enjoy both of you quoting - both are so different but both are always true and poignant. Don't stop!

Maryann

Excellent choice, Andrew. And so true. If only we could make the whole box dark chocolate truffle....hm.........:rotfl: :rotfl:

Maryann

Glad to hear the kids are OK.
Dark chocolate is way too healthy for me - I prefer mine milk or even white (yum, yum)

But then come to think of it, life would be too boring. Although I do like the boxes that give you a list of exactly which chocolate is in which space.....
I guess I do like to be in control too much. A little surprise, as long as it's a happy one, keeps life interesting!

Maryann

Maryann
OMG - I like the "name tags" too - nothing worse than biting into a candied pineapple when you were sure it looked like a skinny caramel!!
