That's annoying, getting charged twice -- I actually thought I had seen someone asking for tickets to climb the tower in Pisa, but I just looked and couldn't find it (maybe I dreamed it!). I guess you should just try to get the refund for the second set unless someone here speaks up.

I just read on another thread that someone ws looking for tix that same day. I think it was one of med excursions thread in the trip report section. I will look and see if I can find it again. It was a guy, I didnt recognize his name from our thread.

Thank you I am seeing if they will refund as I think its there mistake.

I tried at both cafepress and zazzle and got rejected by both for "copyright issues".

Has anyone else found an online place to make the shirts?

I would love to but I'm afraid I wont have time to iron on or go in person.

If you look at your charger, you'll almost certainly see the input voltage as 100V-240V. That means all you need is an outlet adapter - you won't need a voltage converter. An outlet adapter is a plug that is compatible with the foreign outlet on one side, and the U.S. plug on the other. UK and Barcelona have different outlets - not sure what the Barcelona one looks like. You can get international adapter sets most anywhere including radio shack, brookstone, and even at the airport.

Done. I encourage everyone to download the latest tag list which includes this update and others.

I've upped the resolution on the back so it's more than enough. The front is as good as it gets, but should be plenty.

That would be my expectation. Most local malls have at least one T-shirt store that does custom graphics. Chances are you can convince the person there to ignore the copyright issues for a few shirts.

Ok Thanks Dan!

OK for any locals - just returned from The Block at Orange. I ran into a store called Identitywear custome studios. Basically a small custom print t-shirt. I explained the situation about the logo, being Disney, how someone has contacted DCL about using Mickey IE - our banner - and how they said as long as its for personal use and not for sale, its a case of don't ask don't tell. They will not harass. So that being said, I explained the sitations and the logo to the best of my ability and the guy behind the counter said that they can do it - if you use their t-shirts it'll run roughly about $25 (actually just under but round up) and that all I had to do was bring in the image on a cd. It takes about 24 hrs but they can sometimes get it done in the same day.

For anyone local - or even far away, I will post the store's info - they said that I would just have to sign a legal disclosure saying I am not selling these for profit. I double checked and asked - no problems with using the Mickey icon - and he said no - I can just sign.

If anyone is interested, although this would have to be done quickly, I can take an order - there is no discount until after about 25 shirts. But at this point, beggars can't be chosers.

Their phone number is (714) 978-6000.

Cool - just checked out their flyer and they laser imaged a pair of pants - looks coold. Their motto? You name it we can brand it. T-shirts frun sm-XL and he said they will shrink down about 1/2 size but he doesn't want to be pigeonholed just in case they don't shrink down enough.

If anyone would like me to see if they can do this sometime this weekend I can go back and have them see the image. If not - there is another custome shop that is more local to me that I can check.

They also have a website at IDWEARSTUDIOS dot com. Hope this helps someone. I may decide to go back and if I do - I will come on here and ask if anyone wants one - I may just have them do one and see how it comes out.

Just to let you all know I'm still here. I've only been able to ketchup and lurk as life is just tooooooooo busy to get any decent computer time.

Yesterday lunchtime I dashed in to the center of London and got DH a new suit and then spent yesterday evening alering the trouser leg length and jacket sleeve length instead of doing 'holiday things'

Ethan has his end of school concert tonight, we've got Joshua's new secondary school parents meeting tomorrow and his school leavers concert next wednesday. I need to alter 4 pairs of trousers for the boys before I can pack them. We got all our toiletries at the weekend and I'm planning on getting the EURO's this lunchtime. I've also completed our family London gift bag and I've got the basis of our fish extender all I've now got to do to it is decorate it. Still haven't started packing :scared1: I need to cancel our DCL excursions for the days where we've now got private trips booked and I need to change the details of our Barcelona airport taxi pickup as we're now coming into Barcelona 24 hours earlier. I've also got the get the group t-shirt images to my shirt printer and organise that.

Still haven't been able to complete our online check in due the Disney's complete incomptinence.

Has it been decided when we are going to wear our group t-shirts. Are we all going to wear them en-mass or is it more af a momento thing ?

OMG sooooooooooooooo much to do and sooooooooooooo little time left. Hopefully I will survive the next 15 days and I'll get to meet you all in Barcelona :woohoo: :woohoo:

P.S I forgot to say that I'm also working full time up to 4pm on Thursday 26th July !!!!!!!!!!!

I look forward to meeting all of you in Barcelona at the fountain!

Wow - I am now tired for you too ;) I feel the same way - there seems to be so much to do - or should I say - our everyday life events seem to really keep us busy and leaves time for everything else. Don't you feel sometimes that you are the only one running around? I would not mind a day here and there where I have absolutely nothing to do, no appointments, no shopping, no picking up, etc. Nada.

One day and one thing at a time. Good luck to your dh and your ds.

How do you set up a blog. IT sounds like a great way to keep the kids updated since they are going to be in two different places while we are gone.

Hi everyone! Checking in this morning.

I was so tired last night that I went to bed at around 8 or 8:30, so of course, by 1:30am I was wide awake! I'm now getting ready for work, so will hopefully have time to kind of almost ketchup.

Opened an account at Wells Fargo yesterday & will use that debit card overseas. I'm just really leery of someone taking my regular debit card & cleaning out my savings account. I also ordered Euros, so will pick them up at the end of the week.

I've got as far as PRINTING my packing list, but that's about it. This weekend I'm going to San Antonio to visit my cousin (WHAT WAS I THINKING WHEN I SAID YES, I'D GO A WEEKEND BEFORE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GO TO EUROPE FOR A MONTH!!!)

CONGRATULATIONS, JOANN & YOUR DH!!

Looking forward to reading the Blog - we're planning on doing one, too - have it set up. Have to learn how to post photos, etc.

I ordered white t-shirts just in case they don't make the border around the logo transparent - we will see.

HAVE TONS TO DO & TIME IS RUNNING OUT. (Just thought I'd share)

Okay, hugs, everyone, toodles -- catch you on the flip side (wherever the flip side is)

I will post this a few times for those who missed the original posts:

Children's gift bags
..... If you would like your child to participate in the kid gift bag exchange, please send me a PM as well post here if you like. I am going to match up girls and boys as close to their ages as possible. So, please send names and ages.

It will be $15-20.00 dollars- one gift per child, those who have more than one child, if this is too much, please let me know and we will change it to 10.00 dollars, although here in the US, 10.00 will not get you much!

Tomorrow is the last day to put your child's/ childrens name in... unless I get even numbers of add ons, then I can continue to match. All names will be put into a bag ( as close as age compatibility as possible) and Carley will pick two names at a time for matches. I will post and PM everyone with their matches Friday morning. I was asked if the kids gift bags need to be location specific. I do not think so, do the best you can, its the thought that counts!!!

so far we have:

Carley 13 (Sallie)
Alice 12 (Andrew)
Stephen (Andrew)
Ethan 9 (Izzi)
Joshua 11 (Izzi)

updated..we are growing!!!!

Dan, have you used your BofA card in Spain or Italy? When I spoke to the Customer Service department they said it could only be used in France but many people seem to be saying that they have used it in other countries. Maybe they are like Disney, if you don't like the answer, call back, wait on hold for 20 minutes and maneuver through countless menus and try for a different rep with different answers.

I'm beginning to think we'll just try to purchase the right amount of Euros before we leave and then won't have to worry about getting more money while there. It's giving me a headache.:headache: :headache: :headache:

Sandra

After reading everyone's suggestions and speaking to people who've gotten Euros in the past, I went to my bank today and paid for 350 euros.....they will arrive on Thursday............now, question.....is that enough? Is that too much?........if we run out, we will still be able to buy them onboard.......I hope ordering them ahead of time, will remove some of the pressure and worry about this issue!:confused3

DH & I decided this am to order more euros. I agree, it's not worth worrying about finding an atm that works or rationing euros. Cash is probably the most cost effective as we won't get hit with atm/charge card surcharges. Hate to carry it around though. But with money belts and being vigilant, hopefully it will work out.

JoAnn - Congrats on your 27th Anniversary!!!!

Maryann

Same here - had my DD16 figure out her stuff last night. I'll take care of my DS13 and DS12 - whether they like it or not. Very unsure about the knees and shoulders too. I know Rome is the one to be careful of - not sure about the other places. I am not used to the humidity - haven't lived in it for about 10 years - I know I'm gonna melt and I'm not sure how to pack for it (help!!!)

Ditto on the melting.... :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Hi as we have new people on the thread just thought I would post this info again.

[/SIZE]

Just out of interest - Could you PM me if you are planning on meeting up @ the towers 22:15. I can then make a list of who to look out for. Thanks

Hi helen- We have every intention of meeting at the fountain, however- we arrive in Barcelona from Paris at 5:30pm. I hope to get to the hotel (Andrew's of course),by 7 thinking an hour and a half should be enough time - (but I know should NEVER assume or think for that matter!!) I still hope to check in, drop the luggage and also meet for dinner at 4 gats, but as you see can the time frame is tight, so I have to wait until the final hour to see if we will make it. Hopefully customs, baggage and such will go smoothly, but who knows. :confused3
So, I really do not have an answer or you except that, I do plan on attending, but of course, dont hold dinner if you do not see my propeller !! I am going to talk to Maryann today to see if she will have her cell phone- then I will be able to call her- If some had an iphone I would be able to text or email!!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I am staying an extra night when we dock, so if we miss teh fountains then , we will do it when we return from the cruise.

We plan on going to a beach in Sardinia on our own, so you might want to think about that. My options are open -- I have heard that you can take a bus from just outside the port for about 1.30 euros each and get to a beach; Cala Sabina is accessible via train and sounds lovely; and if I was able to negotiate a round trip taxi deal at the port I might go that way. Regardless, unless it is raining we will be headed to a beach that day.

Hi Julie- we may follow your cab on this one- I booked some tour through Disney, but I think I just want to get one swim in the Med. if I can!!

First..........my DH & I are 27 today!! It's a miracle!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

Just remember that you can only write a check up to $100 per person for the whole cruise - so, have everyone bring their checkbook. Do you have an ATM card, just in case?

Congrats on the anniversary! My DH and I have been married for 19 years and together for 26.
I'm with you on the packing issue. I need my clothes! I have been putting things aside and will work on that a bit more the next week or so. Am shopping for toiletries today.
I bookmarked the blog today - I am a sucker for those!

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!

We got our euros. A woman my DH works with just came back from Ireland with $600 worth of euros. We just bought them from her. It worked out great for both of us.

I had to go for the fitting for the dress for my son's wedding. It did not go well. The tailor at the bridal shop would not do anythng I wanted and was not kind about it. Needless to say I picked up the dress yesterday and took it to another tailor who had done work for me before. She's doing everythng the way I wanted. I'm taking my daughter today for her fittng . I'm hoping it goes smoothly.

I also just found out that I need to dig out pictures of my son growing uop because the're doing a slide show at the reception. Between photo albums, boxes of pictures, and cruise stuff my house is a mess!:scared1:

THAnks Julie,
I called BofA and they told me it will work fine in France but they don't have a Global ATM Alliance with Spain or Italy. It will work but there will be substancial fees. I'll cange my pin number to fit the criteria you've mentioned. I'm also calling all of my other banks and credit cards to see if they are any better. So far no luck.
Sandra

JoAnn - Congrats on your 27th Anniversary!!!!

Maryann

I opened a BofA savings account last month and ordered euros and pounds. I got a check card instead of an ATM card with the account. I really wanted an ATM card but for some reason they gave me a check card. Then I was told that unless I used it at a BofA bank there would be fees. No one mentioned about the Global ATM alliance. I asked about the ATM card, but they kept putting me off saying its the same as a check card. Then because I opened a BofA account, they automatically removed my autopay setup for my BofA VISA card, in hopes that I would reset it up with the BofA account. They also made it so that I couldn't reset it up online. They said my savings account was free, but then once I opened it, they said it was free from only a few months. I'm just so frustrated with BofA, I'm closing the account. I got my euros and pounds. I have an ATM card with my credit union and it has PLUS, so I think I will be OK. they said no fee to use the ATM card with them anyways. I just plan on bringing lots of cash.
