So the great big Pirate # 5000 is coming up today. But I'm not watching pirates anymore after my last experience. Too scary.

I agree, what happened to you was weird.
Lisa

ps. I am really getting excited!!

Okay I think I've caught up now, thanks for all your good wishes, it isn't easy here at the minute but we'll get through.

Great job - definitely your forte!!

Oh pot calling kettle black methinks! (do you have that saying in the US or do I need to translate?)

We have that saying - at least us old people do.

Since YOU brought up the flashing issue again... I must report that we are having 90 degree weather here on Long Island. The temperature on my classroom thermometer reads 95 degrees!!!! Put a hot flash on top of that every 20 minutes or so...and ,.. well,.... you can just imagine:faint: :scared1:

I'd rather not!!:scared1: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Not in that stage of life yet, but other than the hot flashes, I'm ready for it!!

Nothing to do with a pirate of course!!!
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: pirate: pirate: pirate:

Such a sneaky sort!

Good try!
Okay, I only need 16 more, before "what's her name" comes back........see you all later!:hippie:

I think she can . . . I think she can . . . (choo choo smiley)

So the great big Pirate # 5000 is coming up today. But I'm not watching pirates anymore after my last experience. Too scary.

It's just too stressful for me - either I'm not at home (last couple of pirates) so it doesn't matter or I worry about it too much - I'm afraid my blood pressure will go up and I'll get Andrew's headaches:sick:

Speaking of which, who ever missed a man so much, who wasn't your husband?

Lanyard Status 5/30:
Still taking orders and payments.
I have the lanyard design. Once I get people's payments, I place the order.
DCL called and said they can't give permission in writing for our design, but its a case of "don't ask, don't tell", "we never had this conversation", no hassles as long as we are not selling and its for personal use.

ORDER INFORMATION:
Since this is a two color lanyard, the cost will be $2.43 per lanyard
Each lanyard comes with a badge holder which is $0.20 each
So I need a total of $2.63 for each lanyard
Add $1 for each reel. I'm thinking of ordering the black reel to go with the black lanyard. Sound Ok with everyone?????
So the total for a lanyard with reel is $3.63.

Timeline: Would like to get the lanyard order in before June 15th latest. Which means I need everyone's payment prior. Anyone else who wants to order, please post and let me know. Payment info is below.

Payment: I can take paypal payments (basic account, not the premier account) at kylarice at worldnet.att.net. If you don't have paypal, I will take a check. For the UK people who don't have paypal, just pay when you pick up your lanyards, under the table please. Please pm me for my address to send the checks to. Please include your DIS forum name with any payment, so I know who you are.
Update: Ok, on the paypal payment, some of you are sending me are OK and some are using their premier account. I have a personal account (basic) and while it does allow me to accept payments from folks with premier accounts it charges me a fee to accept plus it limits the number of payments I can accept to a total of 5 for the year. So, if you are unsure, go ahead and try sending me a payment via paypal and if it kicks back as denied, then you know that you have a premier account and I just denied it. Then you will need to send me a check. Pm me and I will give you my address.

Ok so far I have the following interest:

Lanyard Design Options (by formerCPer)

Design E is the Winner!

It comes with a badge holder: http://www.kennyproducts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=KPI&Product_Code=372
To add a badge reel http://www.kennyproducts.com/Mercha...en=PROD&Store_Code=KPI&Product_Code=425-blank, will be another $1 per badge reel.
I was thinking of ordering once I get everyone's payment and bringing them to Barcelona or the DIS meetup to pass out.

I posted this on the previous page, but in case you haven't seen. Some people were confused on how things attach together. Hopefully, this will clear it up:
113321pic1-thumb.jpg
Here is the lanyard with the badge holder (except ours will be vertical)
113321424_front-thumb.jpg
Here is the lanyard with badge reel (except ours will come as two pieces: a lanyard with J hook (as shown in the above pic). Each badge reels has a belt clip in back. The J hook hooks on the belt clip of the badge reel. See the little tab on the badge reel? That will snap onto the top of the badge holder. The badge holder will hold your Key to the World card. The badge reel is not heavy duty. It is a light string and is made to hold the weight of your badge holder.

Let me Know if anyone wanted red color badge reels. Otherwise, you will get a black color badge reel.

Hi everyone can I join in here please ?

I've been active on the Creative forum but never thought to join in here. We're also on the 28th July cruise. We being me Isabel, DH Paul, DS age 11 Josh and DS age 9 Ethan. He live in London U.K .This will be our 3 DCL cruise having done a 7 day Eastern and the 10 night Xmas cruise last year.

I hope we can meet up with some of you onboard in 56 or so days time

Welcome to you and your family.

Looking forward to meeting everyone. How many dissers cruising are we up to?

I could not get on this morning and not sure what page I read last.

Sallie - did you get your two new kittens? Did you name them? I have not received email notifications yet - perhaps they will all show up in my mailbox soon

I noticed yesterday almost all categories were available in this sailing (except 1, 2 3 and 4).

Will try to check in again later.

And she got tagged within that same week too! It took me well over 1 year to get tagged if not more. Then BOOM! within the last 4 months - I got tagged twice more! Its fun when you get tagged! Makes one feel  and on :cloud9: . Amazing what a little tag can do. :cutie:

Let me also just add that it was Laura who gets credited for saying 'jump in there'. And it has just stuck in my brain since. You just never know when something small will become a slogan.

Ok all - here's what's been happening.
Oh my - I can't imagine what would happen if I lost my dogs. I think a nice fruit basket, or something like that would be nice.

We are very thankful that we have a great court. Only 7 houses on it, and we know most everyone that lives on the street connecting to it. But you go around the corner, total blank. It's sad, but sometimes people don't even know the folks next door. Recently, while working from home and on the disboards. The cops suddenly showed up at my neighbors house. I jumped up and opened the front door to see what was wrong. Their dog hadn't been barking, and I had not seen anyone come or go. (my chair sits in the front window so I could see the whole street the whole time). Turns out it was just a false alarm, the kids had played with the keypad on the alarm system. But, before she anwered the door, I told the officer, if anything is wrong, I have her husbands cell phone number. Sad to think if it had been serious, and I didn't have that info. He works in San Jose, which is pretty far from us.

Summary for Thursday 31st May
  • Don wants us to start a Disney university
  • Dan gave us a good site for creating postcards on line
  • Carrie did 66 yes 66 multiquotes. Beat that!
  • The reports from the Med are of rough seas
  • Joann posted a packing list which has been added to by others (Does it have loo roll on it!?)
  • Disneylover up late by herself told pirate jokes, Joann thinks she had Helenitis
  • People worried about feeling too rushed on the cruise having scheduled too much, Kyla just wants to see everything and got a new tag
  • There was a pirate Mystery on the thread, Kyla tried for a sneaky pirate, Mary Jo got it but then suddenly Kyla had it back, so Kyla got 4700. But now Kyla has Helenitis
  • Mary Jo gave us some keyboard short cuts. She's also coordinating a map with all the cabin nos. so we can do the door thing
  • Kidcoos3 got a hot tub and got tagged too, ( she was so excited she thought she'd have an accident!) (I hope not in the hot tub!:rolleyes1 )
  • Dan's been promoted to Lieutenant behind Admiral Andrew and Captain Helen
  • More clothes chat
  • Kyla put the deck parties, shows and formal nights into one list(4770)
  • Mary Jo posted a calendar which she will copy to people who want it
  • Mrs G tried to get the next pirate by talking to herself more Helenitis, but Aurora just snuck it with a genuine question
  • However this Helenitis seems to be even more contagious than the flashing because now Aurora has it!
  • DVC chat re AKV (all vacation club members talk in acronyms have you noticed  )
  • Disney Spirit has rebooked hotel.:wizard:

Lynn, your summaries are the greatest.

I don't know what you guys think, but here is my list of our officers:
Admiral Andrew
Captain Helen
Lieutenant Dan
Chief Technical Officer (CTO) MaryJo
Chief Communication Specialist (CCS) Lynn

I have some for others, but trying to still think of a more complete list that sounds more navel.
Like - Chief officer of helping to keep us all together - Kyla

Oh pot calling kettle black methinks! (do you have that saying in the US or do I need to translate?)

yes - we have that saying here. And I use it all the time.

I've been following the Blogs they are great . How do you set one up?

Find a site that you like the feel of. and then register with them. most have wizards to help you pick a template that you like. then you can customize it anyway you like. i used blogspot.com because i have other friends that have used it.

:) Just for a minute there I forgot how to multi quote!:)

So the great big Pirate # 5000 is coming up today. But I'm not watching pirates anymore after my last experience. Too scary.

Did we have a name for that one?

My DVD came today!! What a nice surprise!!

I logged on to www.disneycruise.com and hoped my CAT 12 had been assigned...but not yet....could not have that much luck today.

I'm not sure about the rest of you, but the dvd sorta well, wasn't that great. I mean, as a first time cruiser, I expected to get a bit more info than I was able to get off of the dcl website. I mean, there was more info in the little packet that came out too.

When the dvd talked about Marseille, it mentioned Château d'If. I thought, cool, there is an excursion to there. But then when I checked, there isn't one. I thought, oh, maybe they don't do tours. So I looked it up online, yep, you can take a tour if you want, 9:30 - 6:30. Of course, perhaps this has all changed from the time they made the dvd's and now. But that was how it was the night we got the dvd and I immediately sat down to watch it.

:woohoo: :woohoo: Can't wait. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Ok so as I said there will be the 4 of us. Me, DH and the 2 boys age 11 and 9. As we're in north london we're flying out of Luton on Saturday morning. We're flying Easyjet and we're on the 7:05am flight which if it leaves on time (fingers crossed) should get us into Barca at 10:20. I figure about 1 hour to get out of the airport and into a taxi which'll put us at the port at about noon ish.

I'm really hoping that there are no flight delays but as the ship doesn't leave till reasonably late it does give us a bit of leeway.

We're on the early dining but as late as possible in that group. When we were on the Xmas cruise just 6 months ago we were going into dinner at about 6:30 which suited us just fine. We've got the following excursions booked

Sat - arrive nothing
Sun - nothing
Mon - Sicily - Palermo & Ballaro Market
Tue - Naples - The hidden treasures of Herculaneum
Wed - Sardinia - Coda Cavallo Beach
Thur - Rome - VIP Visit of Vatican & highlights of Rome
Fri - Palo high tea
Sat - La Spezia - Pisa
Sun - Marseille - Palo dinner
Mon - Villefranche - Highlights of Monte Carlo

The kids are of course booked into the Oceaneers lab which they absolutely adore and I don't expect to see much of them for 11 nights except when they are summoned to go on excursions or to smile for the formal photos !!!!!

I'm a bit of a walker, I did the Moonwalk 2 years back and I do like walking round deck 4 in the early mornings about 7am till 8 am. which covers about 4 miles. Anyone else do any morning walks ?

Andrew's information page says that post #5000 is Captain Tom, not that I'm watching pirates:rolleyes1

Well, I think Andrew started it. At the top right hand corner of your post is the post number. When it hits a number ending in 500 or 000 number its a pirate for whoever posted. You will notice a swarm of killer bees come out just as we get to within 20 posts of this. Although, of late, the board seems deserted and just as you reach the magical post, people come out of the woodwork with impeccable timing and snags the pirate away (sneaky pirates). Argggg...... pirate: pirate: pirate: Helenititis is when you start posting like 10 times in a row trying for that pirate. Helen is MrsJobba who is gone on vacation right now and so can't defend herself.
On page 1, post 10, Andrew lists the pirates won to date. Post 5000 is coming up, and its a biggie.

ETA: Oops, got that wrong, When the posts end in 00 or 000 is a pirate.pirate:

OMG, not again! I'm not smelly!pirate: pirate: pirate:

thanks for the Pirate tutorial...I'll "keep a weather eye out" for the bees !!!!!

That's great. but i have to know - make it blue. or make it pink?
I want to replace my license plate with MKITBLU (my car is a pretty blue)

Wouldn't it be cool if you could get a license plate that changed color from pink to blue?

Ok all - here's what's been happening.

1. Scary home situation still on hold. I'm playing ostrich in the hopes that things aren't really happening.

2. Came home from dinner last night to find that our 'girls' had escaped their cell (backyard) and were runnig loose. So I consider myself extremely blessed that my girls are back home! THANK YOU GOD! AND MY GIRLS ANGEL!

3. I have signed on to do the WB Transatlantic Repo cruise. I always thought it would be nice to visit the rock of Gilbralter. Now, I'm going to get the chance.

And that brings me back to my original point - sorry its so long - just when I think I'm having a bad time, I get knocked up alongside my head and makes me open my eyes to realize - I truly am blessed. I could have lost 2 very important people WELL OK - their dogs - but their still family and instead I still have them. My girls are alive and well - the human ones that is and DH is super supportive and happy that I'm going. (I'm leaving that one alone ) What more could a girl ask for?
I'm so glad that things worked out for your girls & that they are okay at home. Hope the other thing works out. And Congratulations! on snagging the repo back home. How exciting is that! And you already will have experience the cruise with Charmaine & family.

Sunnary for Tuesday 29th May
  • Dan is going into the passport business
  • Sandra's Son's friend died
  • Sallie has 2 new kittens
  • Joann and Lynn had a late pirate battle for 4500 and Joann won

  • Another lot of new cruisers Don and Anna
  • Joann posted some cruise tips which led to some discussion about bad experiences from the transatlantic people, general consensus hopefully by our cruise all the glitches will have worked themselves out
I'm agreeing with everyone else - love your summaries. Thank you.

I was trying to figure out who Captain Tom is in the POTC movie. (duh)

Sorry for any posts I may have missed. I know that I would have liked to respond to a lot more.

I've updated the files & uploaded them, so you might want to take a look & please let me know if I should add any more info -- I'm trying to make these so they will easily print out for us.

Med Cabins - these show which cabins DISers are in. It is in powerpoint, so to see more detail, go to the top of the menu & click on 150% view or higher.

This is a list of cruisers & their families, dining times, etc. I was able to count 243 in our group. I am sure there are more.

Here is the calendar - also in powerpoint that you could download if you wish & populate with your own info.
