July 27 - 7 Day Eastern Cruise

It's Sunday evening here.

First, thank you all for the birthday wishes! I was so suprised to see them all here. I took off and went to Seattle, thought it would be cooler than Oregon (it was), now I'm back.

Second, I have to start packing because I'M LEAVING A WEEK FROM TOMORROW!!!! A week from tomorrow night (Monday) I hope to be safely tucked away at Riverside (Dixie Landings). Looking forward to some quality time with myself and a book at Typhoon Lagoon, getting a jump on my tan.

I have gained 10 pounds in the past year. This packing week is going to be Crisis City. I'm going to try on all of my dressy dresses and they are not going to fit, SO expect to see me wearing a nightgown on formal night because I REFUSE to go buy bigger clothes. I have considered liposuction but there is not time and I will more than likely consider something more drastic when I try on my dresses.....but with cruise paid for the second alternative is out of the question.

Was it Catherine Duneve who said after a certain age you have to choose between your butt and your face?

Could we re-establish our meeting time and place so I am absolutly positive about the when's and where's? I'd love to be at the sail away party with you all.

Guess I better get packing.

at 3.00 PM at GOOFY'S FAMILY POOL , near the stage, on deck 9, midship .

Cruella : have a wonderful time at Dixie Landings !!!! We were there a few years ago ... delicious !!!!!!! The river boats are a "must" : a so relaxing ride to the parks or downtown !!!!!LOL
( In Italy we have a saying : " If you love yourself ,if you THINK POSITIVE, ... then nobody will care about your weight !")
Just feel ...fabulous !!!!

I'm packing now. I'm seriously wondering if I should bring my Cruella wig (I have two, one's hair and one's feathers). I LOOVE wearing those wigs at Disney. You should see the looks that the little kids give me. ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Ever watch Ab Fab? I'm trying to pack here and I have this teenage daughter who wants me to dress like Church Lady for this cruise. She gets to wear all the cute stuff, when I get out something other than school marm clothes she GROANS! "OH MOM! NO!". Maybe I'll just go on a naked cruise next time.

Poor Karen! Bring your wigs and dress like your daughter! She won't be hanging around all THAT much! Devin will be getting to your daughter's point, but at least, right now, we pretty much still agree on clothing....

You guys aren't going to believe this --- DCL called me for a 3rd time asking if I wanted to upgrade to a CAT 1 for an add'l $1800. I can't afford it right now. I've already given them $9,000 for the CAT 3. I'd rather spend the $1800 on excursions and sourvenirs than an upgrade. I'm hoping that when we board there will be a good chance that they may upgrade us automatically to fit more people on the ship. Keep your fingers crossed.

You won't even believe what I did today! I was sliding a glass door whch had been removed and was on its side. The handle was metal. It caught the edge of my big toenail and whoosh, pulled the nail nearly off. I'll save you the gory details. All I could think of was, OMG, my cruises. Normally, I would have toughed it out, doctored myself and let the nail come off by itself. I don't have time for that! Went to the emergency care where the Dr. removed the toenail. I now have this HUGE bandage around my toe and am wearing an orthopedic shoe. I hobble around like its broken. I can't get it wet for 7 days. This ought to be fun. Actually, this could be a good thing. If I can put a bandage around my toe, wear the shoe and hobble (probably have to put a rock under my foot), I'll bet I won't have to stand in any lines at the cruise ship. I'll have to sneak past you guys who will be calling out FAKER! FAKER! FAKER! GET BACK IN LINE, LINDA! Just wanted to see if I could get a little sympathy. Maybe a poor baby?

Yes, I shouted that so you could hear me.... Oh dear, I'm hurting for you. God love you, that is just awful. We're bringing our wheelchair for my MIL, how about you sit on her lap and we take you on the ship? I sure hope you feel better quickly!

Hummmm, Grandmalinda, how can we make the most of this? You're going to be down by the crew quarters, lucky girl, , maybe you can recruite or hire a private hunk, I mean assistant, to carry you from your room up the steps to the pool deck. After he sets you up in the chair we'll order a drink and send for a poolside toe massage from one of those adorable male massusess (never was good at spelling French stuff).

Have Marco bring you some soft kidd slippers from Italy..

I think the sympathy factor is worth a place at the Captain's table (at Palo, of course, which includes moi).

We can also go check out the ship's doctor. Of course I'm not interested, but it's always worth checking out. Maybe he's a special Disney doctor with pixie dust that will do wonders.

Do they give out complementry wine to the inflicted?

What about Mickey? I KNOW, I'll bet Minnie has a pair of shoes that will be PERFECT for you in your condition. Those big toed yellow shiney jobs should go GREAT with your formal black dress! Minnie will loan you a pair, I know!

Oh my gosh! How awful! I'm so sorry that happened to you! But, thank goodness if it had to happen, it did this week and not next week!! Hopefully, it wont be quite so sore next week! I think we're all getting lucky with that part anyway - having stuff happen before we go, I mean. Tracy with her dental work, you with your toe, and I have a doc. appointment this afternoon for a UTI - which as you ladies probably know is a huge pain in the neck, well not really in the neck! Luckily, there's enough time to get a prescription and clear it up before the cruise! We'll all be grateful to get there, won't we? Well, I hope you get to feeling better really soon!

Grandmalinda, here's the good news. My daughter did practically the same thing. She's a pretty serious figure skater. She couldn't skate for a week, let alone put her boot on but she was back on the ice a week later. If it had to happen I think you have plenty of time to heal. It might screw up your pedicure though.

It's panic time - I need help packing! Please, oh please, someone come help me! Russell is working awful hours to make up for what he'll miss (huh?) the kids are whiny, I look like a poodle from my perm, I just found out I need ANOTHER root canal on a bottom tooth and I need valium! AAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH!

I'm with you, ZooMommy. I got a perm and look like a poodle, too. I'm getting highlights the day before we set sail in hopes that might help relax it a little bit. Our DS (15-1/2) went to the dentist this morning to have his teeth worked on and we hope he's feeling better by that time. My DH (39) went to the doctor for his blood pressure yesterday and is continuing with medication; still waiting on blood work though. I guess when it rains, it pours. I'm trying to keep my head afloat with housework, packing, shopping, paying bills, and making arrangements for animal while we're gone that whole week, etc. My DH is sure lucky he only has to get up every morning and get dressed and go to work.

Anyway, I see a cruise vacation in site and it's less than 10 days away!!!!!!!

Oh Brandi, we're in the same boat (pun intended!) I FORGOT to pay the bills last week and now some of them will be late.... If my head wasn't screwed on, I'd probably lay it down somewhere and forget where I put it.... I DID forget Devin's watch today when I went in to tan (it's not working, either.... y'all can call me Lily as in white...UGH!) but they know me and called to tell me that they have it put up for me when I go in tomorrow... I need a vacation to prepare for vacation at this point!
