July 2025 Refurbs

California Adventure

None as of now.

Disneyland

Star Tours: June 30 to ???.

Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room: April 28 to ???
According to the Orange County Register, the entire attraction is getting updated and the trees in the waiting area are being rebuilt and refurbed and the refurb will be a few months. I suspect Tiki Room will be down a minimum of 2 months but possibly up to 3 months or longer. Expect a July or August Reopening...or at the best case scenario by the end of June/before July 4th.

The Disney Gallery: Reopens on July 17th.

Matterhorn Bobsleds: May 5 to ???
My sources say a minimum of 2 to 3 months.

The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln: Reopens on July 17th with the new Walt Disney exhibit.

See Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow:
Back on refurb through June 28. Supposedly reopens June 29.
I do not trust this since Disneyland keeps pushing the date out. Stay tuned.

I will update accordingly when new information becomes available.

I just went and while I know some will be upset about Matterhorn and Tiki room, for the most part the 70th stuff more then makes up for it and hopefully many keep lining up for shows early resulting in lower wait times for rides this summer
I will miss Matterhorn and Tiki on my May trip but I will be OK. I missed the monorail and railroad and Splash for my last 2 trips and I was upset but had a great time.

Exactly, this is the right attitude to have. There is basically always something major closed during all parts of the year now. I will miss Matterhorn, but there's so much else to do and so much I missed during my trip last year. The only one that really pains me if it is closed is Pirates! Everything else I am disappointed about, but I can live with it.

Thank goodness I switched over my visit from Disneyland to WDW this year... I would have been mad if I still saw the closed sign for those attractions.

In a late addition, Star Tours was added to the refurb list starting Monday, June 30. It is closed at least through July 3rd. Wondering if it's just a short refurb, as it's an odd week to close something.

Thanks. I am airborne to lax and Disneyland
I will add it!

I don't think there is ever a time where there is no refurbs. 70th is not that big of a holiday anyway, they only celebrate it so they can give us another reason to go :P

Historically there were no refurbs during the summer season, sans long-term projects. I remember a few years ago when they had to make emergency repairs to Alice in Wonderland, which took the ride down for a bit during the summer, and people had a hissy fit. In more recent years, they’ve closed Toy Story Mania during the peak of summer, and Space Mountain toward the end of peak summer.

I’m guessing that with crowds now heavy year round, closing attractions in the summer isn’t as big of a deal as it once was. That said, winter still sees the most refurbs.

That was true until Covid

Then the crowds changed and since then they seem to not care about summer guests as much and add lots of shows but have no issues having rides closed in the summer. I've been going the past few summers and normally one or two e tickets have been down in the summer

It seems like Halloween and Christmas are when they don't want riders down more now after Covid

We missed the Tiki Room in October only because we got “too busy”
I really really hope it’s open again by the time we get there at the end of July
It’s such a must for me, can’t believe I let us skip it in October

No inside information

It could open by then but they have lots of work to do because they are replacing the tree in the front to put a new one in so the effect where the flowers can be lowered again

So maybe but just be prepared it might not be back up

Yep…aware of all.
But a gal can hope!! 🤞🏻

Star Tours still closed as of Friday 7/4 so probably at least until 7/11 that it reopens (no insight but things typically reopen on Fridays).
