July 2012 Resort and ADR Lists Thread...Countdown to Disney!

I have not seen any threads stating anyone receiving email notices offering Resort upgrades like July of last year, yet All-Star Movies, Sports and Pop are sold out. I may be wrong but I was just playing around on the sight to see if i can make a value resort reservation and All-Star Music and AOA are the only ones left with available rooms. POFQ does not have standard rooms available also.

Any feedback?????

We leave the house in 16 days for the road trip
We arrive at Disney World in 20 days!!

I have missed the DIS. I haven't been on here in over 2 months. Just was very busy the last couple of months of the school year, which ended here last week. Plus lots of family celebrations in May and June as always, and unfortunately, we lost my great grand aunt at the end of May. She was the youngest sister of my great grandmother, and the last of her generation. Up until she passed away, we had 5 living generations in our family, for the past 11 years since my niece was born. We all miss her dearly.

Sorry to hear about your great grand aunt. I am sure she will live on in your hearts.

I think the plan for next time is to go at the beginning of June, right after school lets out. Or, if I save up enough personal days, I'd like to go in November. I'm afraid the humidity is going to wreak havoc with my asthma.

I live on the south. If u get too hot try slushy icy drinks, keep your inhaler close and try altoids b4 using inhaler sometimes they help open my airways and I can put off inhaler BUT with I "ll probably use nebulizer proactively b4 going out too

Hi! I changed a couple of our ADRs around. Here are the changes:

1. Instead of the Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner on July 24, we are going to Yachtsman Steakhouse at 5:55pm.

2. Instead of Yachtsman Steakhouse for dinner on July 28, we are going to The Wave at 6:20pm.

We decided on The Wave on the 28th since we are surprising the boys with the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Cruise that night, which leaves from the Contemporary. That way dinner won't feel rushed. And, the dinner menu for The Wave looked more appealing to us than the Grand Floridian Cafe menu. So, we switched Yachtsman for a different night (the night we originally had GF Cafe).

I fixed everything! :thumbsup2

Question of the day....

How many days until Disney?

9 days! :dance3:

I visited Target today to pick up a couple of things...yeah, right! I forgot how well-stocked their trial-size area is. And once I started there, I thought about all of the other things I am going to need...

My teenage son was just shaking his head.

...but won't he be the grateful one when he realizes that we are sharing a bathroom and I brought a travel-size air freshener? :rotfl:

I can never go to Target without walking out with way more than I really needed. What is it about that store? I wanted to hit the "like" button for you air freshener comment, but then remember I wasn't checking my FB anymore! :goodvibes

I have a teenaged son as well and I bet you will be glad you have that air freshner! :0) I know I would! LOL
I had to smile when I read your post as I do the same thing in the trial size aisle when going on vaca's and my teenage son does the same as yours! Just shakes his head and wonders what in the world until he wants something!

As far as how many days:
We have 25 DAYS!!!! I know it will go fast as work has been really busy and I "get" to go to Denver again next week for part of the week. Oh my!

Question of the day...

Since it's 4th of July, What is you favorite night-time fireworks display/show?

I use to love Illuminations, but now that we have kids, watching Wishes together is priceless. The first time my children watched it, it almost made me cry to see how excited they were. Now, that our fireworks for the 4th have been cancelled, can't wait to watch Wishes.

Well, I've only seen Wishes.....so obviously that is my favorite :) But I am very excited to see Illuminations this trip. Not sure if we will try to get into Fantasmic this trip since it will be much less busy next time we go.

I remember the Electric Parade from my childhood, but it wasn't running when we went in Feb, so I haven't seen it in 20 years. Looking forward to that also.

Hands down....Wishes

I've said it before, and I'll say it again....if I could go to Disney and only see Wishes my trip would be complete! I love, love, love it.

It is a must do, several times during a trip. I even watch it on YouTube. Even watching it on YouTube gets me sobbing.

I'm a weirdo! :rotfl2:

I would have to say Illuminations. I still remember the first time my son and I sat right at the rail front and center (near the Disney Store at the lagoon) and experienced it. To this day over 6 years later he still talks about it and that is one of the must do's at least once at each WDW visit. Usually we try to make it several times to see it. If he had his way it would be a nightly event.

Mine is Wishes, too.

I know that Illuminations is all about us getting along as a planet and as one people and I TOTALLY love that...

...but I still get all mushy inside when Jiminy Cricket sings "When You Wish Upon A Star"!

RHMH- did you do your online check-in? Today is the day right?

WOW!!!! I forgot, I will get Midori to do it right now. Thanks for reminding me. I can't believe I forgot, I been thinking, talking and dreaming of this day since we returned last year. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
