July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

(Is 3am to early to get on the road?)

My plan is to get up at 1am and hopefully get on the road by 2am. I get up at 5am every morning, so I'm thinking it's just a couple of hours. I'm thinking the lighter traffic and the cooler temps will make it worth the early hour and we should be in the Orlando area by 10-11am.

Thanks for all the kind words about our dog. Casey was my first 'baby' and it has been a rough day. The hardest part about going to Disney was leaving her behind but she always stayed with my brother/sister-in-law and they spoiled her while we were away.

I wish it was to drive to Orlando lol. We are driving to my mom's house but I want to beat traffic and not keep her up to late...Normally we leave @ 10 and get there at around 11pm. Would rather get there right as they are getting home from work.

Thanks for the concern about my plans. I managed to dodge quite a bit of the rain though sadly I couldn't meet the Beast because he smells like a wet dog if he gets wet. :rotfl2:

Safe trips for everyone who's leaving tomorrow. I hope the military husbands get home ASAP.

GoofyMominOhio,
I'm sorry about you doggy. We've had to put down two kitties in the last couple of years and it's so very hard. Hugs.

Going to the last non-Fantasmic day at DHS for a while tomorrow. My goal is to ride TSM three times and go to the Animation Building for the character meet and greets.

Our Vacation begins tomorrow at 8am! I Am SO EXCITED!!!!!!! and packed!!!

:thumbsup2:cool1:

Have a safe and fun trip. Hope the rain lets up soon for everyone. And by the way that "piddlin" can sure take up a lot of time.

I totally agree!!!

Ya know if your doggy was an assistance animal, then you could bring it in with you!

Awe sweetie I'm so sorry that your furbaby passed :( I would be heartbroken if either of my kitties passed away.

:banana::banana::banana::banana: Have a safe trip!

I decided to cancel the room in PA and we are going to get up early (Is 3am to early to get on the road?) and drive right on through to my folks house in VA. Got a reply from my TA, she's sending our DME stuff to my mom's house :banana: Taking the cat's to the vet in the morning and picking up my DISmeet items then cleaning house but not before I buy some sleeping pills to knonk me out at around 5pm on Sunday

The first part of your journey is so soon!!!

Sorry to hear about your pup. We had to put our boy Maekchu down a few days after his 16th birthday the end of March. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I had no intentions of getting another dog, but my wife had other ideas. I held out for a month, but she finally won out and we got our little Bear.

The good news as far as our trip goes is Bear was a rescue and his foster Mom said she would watch him anytime we need her to. He loves her place and all the dogs, so it should work out great. We always hated leaving our old pup because he hated being boarded.

Your dogs (both of them) are adorable. That is great you have a place to board Bear that he likes....makes leaving them so much easier.

I wish it was going to be tomorrow. :) That will be our plan in a few more weeks, but hey, tomorrow we can say we're going to Disney THIS MONTH!

We are leaving by 5 am on Saturday! We are driving from Newnan to Orlando, which is about a 7.5 hour drive, so we expect to be there around 12:30-1 pm. We will check in to the Sheraton Safari, eat lunch, swim, and then change/get dinner and go to Downtown Disney in the evening.

The next morning we will wake up and head over to Pop Century and then will be in MK that evening/night! Woo!

Good Morning! I asked DH to set the clock for 6am, he set it for 3:30am so here I am! I tried to sleep a little longer but I am way too excited to sleep! My tickers says Congratulations! YAY:cool1::love::wizard:

the luggage is in my dad's mountaineer, he is driving us to the train station, the train leaves at 10:05am but we have to get there early so I can print the tickets etc.

We will get to Orlando around 1pm on Saturday. Our Disney tickets have the waterparks and more admissions on them, so we are going to use one admission for Disney Quest ( especially if the weather is bad).

ok so in like 30 minutes the rest of my household will be up and getting ready to head out the door.:thumbsup2

I can't believe its really today:cloud9:

Safe travels!!!

:welcome: July, I didn't think you were ever going to get here. This month We're Going to Disney World. :dance3: Sure hope that everyone has a safe trip and lots of fun. Sounds like it is rainng alot there right now, hopefully that will let up a little.:goodvibes:goodvibes

Tomorrow is laundry day and organizing all that I have bought. Then Saturday we take the dog to "Kennel Kamp." :sad1: The only thing I hate about vacation is having to leave him behind. He is our baby. Then, we pack on Saturday and drive to Philly to stay overnight for our early flight on Sunday. THEN.... SEE THE MOUSE! :mickeyjum

I always feel SO guilty leaving our cats behind. In fact, they've perfected the sad face stare, to ramp up the guilt. However, we have a pet sitter who comes by once a day. By the time we get back? Well, we open the door, the cats come running, see it's us and go "OH. You. I'm going back to bed." I'm not sure what our pet sitter does (and she's a little strange... but she pet sits for a living so I excuse a lot!) but the cats remain happy and well-adjusted. For cats, anyway.

I'm so sorry to hear!! :grouphug: It's very hard but she was well loved by you and your family!!

Um, two hand dance? TEN DAYS! I can now count the days on all my fingers! Don't have to take off my shoes and use my toes! ;)

Fingers crossed the boss lets us out early today!

Yea!! It's July :yay::yay::yay:

My last dog wouldn't acknowledge us for a day or two after we came back from vacation. Even though she was watched in our house or at Camp Grandma and Grandpa, she was still mad when we came back from vacation. The one I have now is just always happy. I think there is something wrong with her... :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

OK so...I'm climbing Mt. Laundry today. I've made it to the foothills, but it's dangerous going, so I'll check in with you guys every once in a while. If you don't hear from my by tonight send out the search party!

It's July :dance3::yay::banana::rotfl::rotfl2::cool1::lmao:

We have to keep ourselves at the top now LOL

Well the one good thing about my hubby being trapped in Army travel hell is that I am not thinking about how many sleeps to Disney really :rotfl2:

By the time he gets home, we will have so few sleeps until Disney that I won't have time to get all nervous and excited and stuff! We can hang out, pack up and GO!!!!! WOOT!

(Yes he is STILL traveling) latest word is arrive to Atlanta early tomorrow morning...... we will see. Not holding my breath....

PS Congrats to everyone leaving today and HAPPY JULY! to everyone else!!!!!!!!

Hoping he makes it to ATL. I've played that game, thumbing our way home from the desert. I spent 3 days in Germany and saw little more than the inside of the terminal. He'll get there, we'll keep praying it's sooner rather than later.
