Hey Jim!!!!!

Hope you guys have a very merry christmas!!!
I have found a "down side" to all this ceramic tile.............THIS HOUSE IS COLD!!!!!!!! :cold:

The decorations look great guys! Teens vandalize inflatables in our area, so we didn't purchase any.

Fran... I didn't know it got cold in Florida? :teeth:

Well... time to clean! We've got parties at our place tonight and tomorrow night!

Merry Christmas! :thewave:

Teens vandalize inflatables in our area,

We have had our Mickey for 3 years with no problem.........UNTIL you say this. We went to turn him on last night and found that someone had slashed a huge hole in him the night before. Wendy, do you jinx everything this way??? :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Hope everyone has a great holiday and be safe if you are traveling.

Dave

Sorry Dave, maybe the "delinquents" from our neighborhood are visiting relatives in Florida. :confused3

So far our Christmas has been great! I'll tell you all how the game went when I have more time to type. Merry Christmas! :bounce:

Fran... I didn't know it got cold in Florida?

I din't know Disneyland would be chilly in JULY, either!!!!!!

Actually, Dave would say it is nice here..........but when the inside of my house is 62, THAT'S cold. :cold: So yes, Tampa can get chilly! And since it is ONLY December, Dave won't turn on the heat.
Dave likes a cold bed.......Fran likes a warm one. After 18 years of marriage, he solved this problem about 2 weeks ago and bought me a dual control electric blanket. :love2:

Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Fran - Beano and RonnieJo's Mickey inflatable was given "male and female" parts and a cigar with a sharpie marker the other night...I wondered about yours

The kids loved their Christmas Gift surprise! We got the kids from all 3 families together and told them we had a game for them to play. We hid Scrabble tiles around the house with clues they had to use to discover their location. Once they located all the tiles (about 12 clues to follow), they had to unscramble the tiles to form words. If they guessed a word correctly, we told them to save that word. It took them about 15 minutes to find all the tiles, 15 minutes to spell out "Your going on a cruise" (yes, we know that your should have been you're, but we didn't have any apostrophy tiles). All they had was 6 tiles left to spell out Disney... it took them 20 minutes and all they could come up with was "sidney." When they found out this was wrong, and all they had messed up was a couple of letters, they replied "well it can't be Disney, we're not going on a Disney Cruise." So... anyone else want to go? :confused3 Just joking! We of course told them that yes, they are going on a Disney cruise (and we'd hid that fact from them for several months). :cheer2: It took a day or 2 for it to sink in with a couple of the kids, but now the questions have started... what room are we in? What are the ports? When do we leave? How much school am I going to miss? :earseek: Who else is going? DS Jake hoped that everyone from our last cruise was going with us too, but I told him it didn't quite look that way. Anyway, the kids now know about our next cruise, and they are very excited! :cheer2:

Wendy..............

I loved your scrabble idea! Dave and I could never be grown up enough to keep a secret like THAT from the kids!!!!!!! I wish we were going with you, but we're on the halloween cruise. ( and the 5/27/06 cruise)

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Any tips for those of us doing DCL out of Florida for the first time? We'll likely arrive on Thursday (late) and try to see some NASA stuff on Friday, then of course off to the port on Sat. Jake will be missing school (jr. hi) so we will likely not try to stuff WDW into our trip (he would stress BIG time if he missed so much school it dropped his grades). We have Hyatt points, and we've heard that there is a Hyatt either at the airport or at the port, but have no idea what to do about transportation. Not sure what the rest of our group wants to do about where to stay and transportation either. OF course Betsy and family will be there (that's 3), and we have another family of 4 (likely an addition family of 4). So... any suggestions? :confused3

We've stayed at the Radisson (port) and at the Hampton Inn, Cocoa Beach, I think......

I think I like the Hampton better..........but lots of people like the Rad. better. I would rent a car at the airport, and head over to the port area Thursday night. Pick where you want to stay....then eat at GRILLS, over by the port. It is good food, and a festive atmosphere. (They do take call aheads) We always leave our car at the port, it will cost you $70.00, but it makes leaving easier on departure day. If you stay at the Rad. you can leave your car there for free.....but think about your departing flight, and how much time you will need. I'm sure Dave will have some more advice for you on this...........

Good Luck!

I have not been to the board in a while I wanted to stop in and say "hello". We hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season. Several updates on our end...

Monica is now a full time US resident and can travel at will. We are booked on the Disney Southern Caribbean 10 night in September of 2006. Because she can now travel we have been making up for all of the trips she has missed. We just returned from Mexico where we spent time with her family.

While in Mexico we bought a house for when we visit. We may buy a second, larger home and use the first as a rental. I enjoyed seeing her family home (for the first time) and all of the wonderful food we had.

We now have another pet. Minnie is her name and she is a smaller version of Tinkerbell. I will have photos to upload soon. She is black and white and loves to chew on all of our furniture! I am hoping she quickly grows out of it like Tinkerbell did.

I just returned home from Disneyland where I had breakfast with Disney Legend Ron Dominguez in Walt Disney's apartment on Main Street. His family used to own the 10 acres that is now New Orleans Square and he later became president of Disneyland. We had a great time and it was a wonderful Christmas gift from my wife!

While in Anaheim for my breakfast, I was staying at the Grand Californian and the hotel caught on fire at 3:00 AM in the morning. Although Disney and their PR machine made it seem like nothing happened, it was a true nightmare. We were forced to sleep inside of California Adventure for about 4 hours which did not go over well with too many people.

Monica and I are going to New York for our anniversary to see several Disney Broadway shows (Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Tarzan). To give her the gift, I had NYC's former mayor and (and a great attorney) Ed Koch call and sing "New York, New York" to her. It will be her first trip and should be a lot of fun!

We hope everyone is doing well and that they have a Happy New Year. We hope to see some of you on a Disney Cruise in the near future!

Hey, I am on that cruise! I look forward to seeing you both again! -Ron

Dave, sounds like you and Monica had quite a DL trip (great breakfast and horrible night). The trip to NY sounds great... you REALLY do know everyone! Enjoy your travels and Happy New Year to ALL  :hourglass :drinking1 :grouphug:

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!! :cheer2:

Wendy, The scrabble game was a great idea! I sure the boys are getting excited.

Dave, Congrats to Monica for becoming a US resident. HEY, I have an idea, we could have a reunion in you rental home in Mexico. I read about the fire at the hotel, it must of been an unwanted adventure. Breakfast in Walt's apartment. WoW, how can I get invited to that. Sounds like life is going well. Glad to hear from you again. Keep in touch!

Dave and Fran, If we could we would be on that cruise with you - no luck however. Kim was invited to attend a leadership conference in Boston this year and she wants to go to a private college, :confused3, there goes any money for vacation for us for the next 4 years. I am sorry to hear about your MICKEY - but your house did look great - Dave, you are the man - I owe you a crown and coke for winning the best looking house for Christmas award!

Once again, everyone have a great 2006 - we will talk soon!

Thanks for the kind words! We would love to meet in Mexico but I am sure you do not want to meet at the new house. After the merger with US Airways and America West there is no longer a direct flight. To get there, we had to fly to El Paso, cross the border into Mexico and then take a bus (the direct bus was 13 hours) to get to her home. I plan on making this trip only when forced to by my in-laws!

We would love to set up a reunion in Phoenix or Cabo San Lucas (or anywhere else that everyone can get to). I would be happy to plan it and rent a large home for everyone. Let me know when your schedule permits a little travel.

Today I booked a 3 day cruise on the Disney Wonder for the end of the month (Jan 26, 2006). I know the chance is slim, but is anyone else going to be on this cruise or in the area? I already miss the Disney cruise and I could not wait until Sept. for the 10 night. I thought this would make for a nice long weekend during our anniversary. If anyone will be in the area, please let us know!

Hope everyone had a safe new year. I went to Los Angeles for dinner and was rained on the entire evening. Hope my luck changes for the better sometime soon!

Hi everyone. Dave, anytime in the Summer - Las Vegas would be a good place to meet - cheep flights -

Everyone cruising this year - Have a bahama mama for me. - Boy am I jelous.

Hi all- Hope everyone's new year is up to a good start! :cool1:

All the Christmas decor taken down and stored in attics and garages?

Hello, Wendy!
