I can give you one now:

Warm, sunny, crowded, wonderful, fun, relaxing, romantic, my favorite place on the planet.....:cheer2:

But I will give you more details when I get back. Just do me a favor, JoAnn, pray for bright sunshine on Sat. so I can get out of here. Then you can resume your snow dance

Fair enough.......I'm pretty certain that the only week we're getting snow is the week we're off in March............:confused3 :rolleyes1 At this point we're cheering for summer...............:cheer2:

Thanks, Saturday can't come soon enough!! I teach 10th grade Biology.

Maryann

WOW You are a brave woman! I am new to the high school-age and still learning what to do with them :confused3
However Biology is another thing altogether- thats what my degree is in and I love it. I just wish my daughter liked it :sad1: Our High School has the 9th graders take it and she hates it. It makes me sad cuz how could anyone hate biology??!!!
As far as teenagers are concerned - Perhaps you peeps with high schoolers can give me tips on dealing with them :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

I feel your pain. Both of my children are HS/MS Social studies teachers, not science:confused3 As far as figuring out high schoolers.... think of them as aliens who inhabit childrens bodies. :scared1: Once they are in college, they again begin to resemble human and you begin to like them again. As long as you realize they know everything and you know nothing, you'll get along just fine.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

for Malverne, NY
Saturday
Partly sunny. Highs in the mid 30s.
Saturday Night
Partly cloudy in the evening...then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows in the lower 20s.

looking good, Mrs. G!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

You know, we retired people have time to watch weather for ANYONE...honestly, the weather channel is my one and only TV channel I DO watch! (my DH calls me the most boring person):happytv:

As for the teenagers, I could write a book, not of advice....of 'situations' we've been thru - and 'it ain't over yet'!!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Hey Lucy, could you check my weather, too?:lmao:

Welcome, teen thread.........this trip is coming together nicely!!!:lovestruc

:) Ah my DD16 will be so happy to hear there is a teen thread. hmm I guess she better get herself an account on the dis board. Thanks so much for starting that!

Umm And about that teen thread-how do I find it to show my DD :confused3 I can be so blonde sometimes :lmao: :lmao:

I'll have Matt post the link for it. He's a little under the weather right now. I think he may have a sinus infection. Looks like we're heading to the doctor today. Right now it's 13 degrees here and looking for snow/sleet/freezing rain later today. Can I go to Castaway Cay now????

If only we could get a delayed opeining out of it!:goodvibes

Thanks for the link, Matt and you'll see my DD is now a brand new dis boarder (like i'm old hat at it :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: )

Wow 13 out there. It was T-shirt and shorts weather out here today :) And my DH got in an accident, in the shuttle bus, in DC, on his way to the airport today cuz the overpasses were freezing. (WOw that was a mouthful!) Boy am I happy to be living in CA

Baseball has started so at the moment I have 3 boys in baseball, 2 boys in basketball, 2 boys in soccer and a DD trying out for both the high school musical (gads how that sounds now) and the high school soccer team. (Hope she makes one but not both!!):scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Why am I unable to say "NO! One sport is enough!!" :confused3

LOL ok enough out of me-apparently I really miss having an adult in the house to talk to.

I'm really angry. It's 32 degrees, about 2 inches of snow and slush and ice and school isn't cancelled. I spent all morning listening to the radio and checking the school website and they didn't even have the courtesy to put up a note that school wasn't cancelled. Matt isn't going to school anyway because he's still sick but it's the principle of the thing. I can't believe they expect kids to go to school in this slop.

We finally got a two hour delay...........sorry about that!:confused3

Nope, opened regular time.
Actually it was worse yesterday evening when it went from snow, to ice. Mega accidents on the streets and parkways. DH was late coming home last night as the trains were having problems. And it was my b'day yesterday:headache: Actually I was the big 50 yesterday. It's what you get for having a mid Feb. b'day. :upsidedow
