July 17th 2005 Magic?

Hi all,
I was thinking the same thing, somewhere around 3pm, since all services stop at 3:30pm to prepare for the Safety drill. We have 2 of the lime green mickey chips from Home Depot but have not figured out what to do with them yet. Anyone else have any ideas on how to identify each other?

What do you do with the lime green Mickeys? Lime green is the "official" color for the DIS board, right? Should we pick some up from Home Depot and write our board names on them and look for each other that way?

Scoops at 3 sounds good to me. One way to identify us is that my daughter has really curly hair.

DonettaR- we are staying off site this time. We are AP's and usually visit 3-4 times a year. DLRH weren't offering room discounts at this time so we decided to save the money and spend it elsewhere. All the hotels are great. We love Grand Californian and Paradise Pier is our favorite.

We didn't have to worry about transfers as we are going with my parents to DL. They will drop us off and pick us up at the dock. Talk about service

I hear the park looks great and fans are talking about lining up on the 16th to get in the park first on the 17th. I know it will be busy when we are there, but I think the 17th will be crazy...glad I'll be starting the cruise leg of our journey.

We'll send some messages to the kids this weekend.

I just picked up my Alien Green Mickey Mouse paint chips from Home Depot. Now I need to figure out how to attach it to my shirt...any ideas?

We are in for Scoops at 3pm! We will try to come up with some way of making a badge or name tag out of the Mickeys. Let us know, if you find a good way to do this.

What if we glued popsicle sticks to the back of the mickey to make a sign we can hold up? Or, the local craft store sells pin backs. We could glue one of those on the back to make a pin.

I'll try to pick our paint chips up this weekend and figure out what to do with them.

I've got ours. I like the idea of the pins. Or we could punch holes in them, tie a string through it and wear it as a necklace.

My daughter will PM this weekend(been really busy with school..but counting down the days)

Maybe the kids could start their own thread? What do you think? We need to think of some safe way for them to talk only to our thread's kids.

Good Morning everyone,
So we're a go for 3:00 at Scoops! Looking forward to putting faces to names! You all have good ideas about the Mickey paint chips-I grabbed a few extra, so I'll see what works best.

DonnettaR-I like the idea of starting a thread for our kids! I always get the PMs and I forget to let the girls know until a couple of days later (my apologies to all of your kids for my lameness!) If they had their own thread, I could have my girls check each day on their own and they could respond accordingly. I think it would be safe since the board is moderated and I don't think any other kid/adult other than from our cruise would post. Besides, we would always see the thread anyway (seeing as though my youngest can't type), so that's another way of monitoring things. At least that's what I think.

Does anyone know if they're showing the new Willy Wonka movie on board? DD 11 is a big fan and it opens in theaters on the 15th of July. I told her I don't think so (at least I don't THINK it's a Disney production). I told her we'll be able to see the new "Herbie the Love Bug" movie for sure, but I don't know of any others. Anyone else know?

We could start a new thread here. If we use this board for the kids they would have screen names and that could help protect them. If all else fails we could create a private invite only yahoo group for the kids to post to.

I like the hole punch idea ton wear like a necklace or a flower lei . I think I'll cut the mickey shape out when we create our badges.

On to Green Mickey Buttons. As will notice by my signature that I have been very busy this evening; scanning, editing and resizing my HD Green Micky into my computer. I think I have it worked out. My DW and I found button making kits at Micahels (Craft store) that you can insert your own picture and snap it together. She will go this week and explore how much they are. From some other sites that had similar items they were under a dollar. So if any one would like the image please PM me and I will email to you. May be we should wait and see how ours turns out first. Anyway I was planning to take my DD's down to see the ship next weekend. I had originally hoped to see it come in but it is to early in the morning and little DD has ballet at 10:30. So we were thinking of going down in the evening and seeing it cruise away. It looks like several other Cruise Meets are doing the same thing. It is going to be a PARTY!!! Anyway we will have to see how the week fairs. Older DD has pneumonia and we will have to see how she is feeling. Talk to you all soon.

Wow the board has been quite active this weekend. Our family will be going to the port on Sat the 28th to see the ship. We will probably get there at 8-9:00 am???? Is anyone else from this cruise going to the port too? I see that Goofyonthehiseas will try to go in the evening.

We would love to meet everyone at Scoops.

Goofyonthehiseas or disnylnd-if you can, take a few pictures of the Magic coming into port on the 28th and post them on this thread so that we may all enjoy them! I might try to go in the eveining, but we'll be returning from Pismo Beach that day, so I'm sure we'll be tired. Anyway, I read that there is going to be quite a crowd of Disney lovers there, so have fun!!

Hello all! Just found this site and thread. You can add 9 more to to the list of cruisers for July 17th. Two familes, mine includes DH, DD16 and DD13. And my DBro, DSIL and their 3 young'ns. Our first cruise, DB's 2nd cruise. We are big DL fans and since we live just 1 1/2Hrs south we visit at least once month. This cruise is coming up faster than I realized so I've got a bunch of catching up to do. Glad to see this thread and know that our "9" won't be the only ones on board
