We are planning a trip to Universal Studios the first week of July. What we are wondering is it really worth it to stay on site for the fast entry line. We have two kids ages 13 & 11. We are also getting the 4 flex ticket so we will be visiting both parks onsite and also Sea World and Wet N Wild which I know these express passes wont work there. Is this week normally a crowded time?I have found a resort not too far away that has rooms that have a lot more room than the ones that I have seen on the resort. I seen that you can purchase the express ticket if your not onsite but wouldnt everyone else be doing this and that line wouldnt be that much faster? All help would be greatly appreciated since this will be our first time there.
Thanks,
Dwayne

yes and not just for the fotl, for the full effect of universal and what it has to offer in luxury and relaxation....

at the time you are going, every tom dick and harry will be there. if you stayed off site, you would have to pay daily for the parking garage. if you bought the express passes, the price varies by date you are there. they are only valid only once per ride and attraction. if the e.p. costs $40 a person (i have no idea what their price is for your dates just using this as an example) you would be spending $160 for one day alone. best used towards a room at the on site hotel and you would get the perks all guests get for staying on site.

staying on site is more than just head of the line on rides.
you can pool hop, spend hours at city walk after the parks close and have a short walk or boat ride to your hotel.

very relaxing type of vacation.

and by staying on site, you can take the shuttle to sea world and the water park. the shuttle runs for all the hotels to those places you want to take in.

You are going at a VERY busy time. The parks are packed during the July 4th holiday. We have been there several times during those dates and would not even consider staying off site. Even with express access, the parks are very crowded after about 11:00. Stay on site. Get to the parks early. Ride what you want and walk back to your on site hotel for a relaxing afternoon at the pool. Then walk back to City Walk or the parks for dinner and more fun. The good thing is, the parks are open late during that time period.
