Hi Figment 74,
First, let me say welcome aboard the boards.
Several months back, one of our listeners asked that one us of go to the Thomas Kincade event at the Grand Floridian. No one else volunteered, so I agreed to go. The listener wanted one of Mr. Kincade's pieces and it would only be available at the event.
This whole thing had a touch of humor, as I am not a fan of Mr. Kincade's work. This wasn't changed by attending the event.
When discussing the event, Julie had a very strong negative reaction to Mr. Kincade and his "art".
While Mr. Kincade has a very loyal and devoted following, there are some that feel his work is derivative, repetitive and schlocky. (It's not hard to figure out to which group I belong.)
As art is a truly subjective term, there is no right or wrong here. If you like it...great......if you dont...great.
The joke here is that Julie, (along with many others), doesnt like the work of Thomas Kincade, so the whole thread was meant to be "tongue in cheek" and humorous.
It's a chat-established fact that Kevin dislikes "Cottage Cheese." This is just one example...
