We ate at both Yachtman's and Le Cellier in June. My DD 7 was able to get a steak at Le Cellier on the kid's menu. We were also on the DxDP.

I also totally agree with Pete- our experience at Le Cellier was on par with Yachtsman. My steak was just as good. For this particular occasion, Le Cellier edged ahead because of the service. Our server, Lauren, was fantastic!!! Pete, you would love her- she handled my husband's dry humor and was able to dish it out as well. She was also great with the kids and we had a large group, 4 adults & 4 kids.

Some people are thread killers, but I create dead end threads. If I took it personally, I would feel like the kid picked last for dodge ball on the board where almost every thread gets highjacked and veers off course.:upsidedow Oh well, I'll just go have some CAKE.:thumbsup2 Better luck next time.:confused3

Don't feel bad- I kill threads routinely too! :cool2:

Glad to hear there is still some variety on the kids menus though!

Woo hoo! A post after mine!! I am trying to come out of lurkdom. When Pete issued the challenge, I was deep in itinerary planning for our trip and was more in "read as much as possible" mode. Now that the trip is over, I need to pass the time until our next trip, probably 2 years from now.

I am trying to "come out of my shell" and put myself out there more.

Glad you posted this as I haven't checked the Kids menus as before generally DD shared off our plates but I think she may want her own next time and she likes 'proper' food :goodvibes

We ordered her the kids chicken nuggets once - why are the kids processed [insert your own expletive here] and the adults breast nuggets?

ETA ordered her a meal at a TS with was supposed to be grilled chicken stirs with rice - well it was dry, hard and tasteless so didn't bother again

We are going in feb on the dining plan and DS who is 4 will be on the meal plan for the first time. He is a lighter eater and we will be splitting his meals with his little sister ( dd is 1)
He is not a picky eater, and Im going to try to give him good choices. I feel like its a challenge now to see if I can go the whole week without having to give him mac and cheese or chicken fingers and fries . Now saying that he is about the only kid I know that doenst like chicken fingers. He looked right at me the first time he ever got them and said. Chickens dont have fingers.

Cant blame him for not wanting to eat them LOL.

Narcoossee's had a filet on their kids menu 2 years ago when we had our wedding. My niece and nephew both got it. Our DS is only 8 months, so we havent' been looking at kids menus recently, but I thought i would share!

The chicken tenders for everyone used to be real breaded chicken breasts and were very tasty. Now the kids get chicken pieces parts packed into a small flat nugget looking package that is smaller than an Oreo. :sad2:

Le Cellier has Children's Steak (for an upcharge) on the menu that my eight year old son said was "fantastic".

:goodvibesI think I may be the official thread killer...honestly if I took it personally I would never post again. :goodvibes
The title of your thread caught my eye because of something that happened when my son was 9 years old (25 years ago). We were eating at a steak house that had a children's steak, which he ordered. He ordered it medium rare, it came out well done and he asked to have it re-done. Now,he was very polite about it, but Dh and I were a little aghast, but slightly amused by it.

SamSam, I like my steaks like that Noe but as a kid I think I would have been grossed out. Unusual to hear of a kid liking med-rare steaks.

Knowing how to cook very well. I don't understand why restaurants don't put an asterix beside certain menu items to denote that a child size portion is available. Some Dishes would be very easy to make a child portion.
