Yes Julie the Canadian money has nicknames! The one dollar coin is called the loonie and the two dollar coin in called a twoonie or tooney! They are called this because of the illustrations on the coins.
 
I call the two dollar coin "the one with the queen with the bare/bear behind".

Queen Elizabeth is on the front, a polar bear on the reverse.
I am sure I did not make this up myself!

At the end of a Canadian trip, I seem to end up with close to $10.00 in change. The pennies, nickels and dimes (sometimes even quarters) I can slip into usage here in Maine. The leftover loonies and twonies encourage me to go back to Canada!

Could you imagine how big our wallets would have to be! LOL

I emailed Julie this morning mid podcast to let her know she's right.
 

they sell it in cartons as well......bags are really only good for the home...your right.
 
Most of Ontario its bagged. Not sure why. Some places you can get it in the 4litre plastic jug. Or in the paper cartons.
 
we had bagged milk while I was in elem. school (yes i live in the states) it lasted maybe a month, lol.
