Just back from 10 wonderful days at Disney World and Fort Wilderness. You can read the full Trip Report at my blog link below. Since this is the FW board, I will give a quick wrap-up of my experience at the Fort. While we enjoyed our time at the Fort, staying in the Cabins for 9 nights, I'm not sure if we'd return. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed our time and for our situation (3 adults, 2 kids) it was perfect. We rented a golf cart from Kenny at Tee Time (I highly recommend him!). Even so, I got a little tired of having to drive everywhere...pool, trading post, front desk, etc. I know that by having the golf cart, we probably walked less than we would at other resorts (Carribbean Beach, I talking about you!), but still it felt different. I'm not sure how to explain it...maybe the Poly spoiled me. :) All in all, the resort is beautiful, clean, well-kept. Everyone we met was so nice and I can see how the Fort people who return year after year can really create a sense of community.

Nice trip report so far, anxious to read more. It will definitely be helpful to those that have never stayed at FW before. You did a great job of describing the resort.

So how were the beds? My sister will be meeting us there from Naples and I have asked her to pick us up a few foam egg crates to put on the beds. Is it necessary?
Thanks!

My Mom slept on the Murphy bed and she said it was comfortable, and she's fairly picky. Hubby and me got the double in the bedroom which was comfortable enough, but lumpy. My husband said he felt like he was sleeping on a hill. I took the bunk bed one night and it was aawwwwful...hard and uncomfortable. Ugh. The kids didn't seem to mind, but after a day at the parks they tended to crash hard.
