Jr Bridesmaid Help

I ordered this dress from David's in January & it has still not come in. They say it MIGHT be in about May 6th but that is cutting it WAYYY to close since I need it shipped to Alaska to be fitted to Dwayne's daughter. I am looking for a simple a-line ivory jr bridesmaid dress, she is still in girls sizes (12-14) Any ideas on a catalog or site that I could order from that has quick turnaround time?

Another site with Jr. Bridesmaid dresses I found is CA bridal (cabridal dot com). I have no idea how long their turnaround time is, but they had a pretty big selection of dresses.

Go to Target, WalMart, Dillards, Belk's, etc. I'm not kidding. I've seen gorgeous dresses at Target and Walmart this year, but we bought gorgeous dresses at Dillards last year (Belk had nearly the same selection) because they had Easter and 1st communion dresses. PLENTY of them were simple and ivory. This is the perfect season to be looking on the racks for the little girls. We couldn't find anything we liked in the bridal salons (David's had a TERRIBLE selection of little dresses last year as well as a few other stores in town) so we went, out of desperation, to the racks. At least give it a shot. Also, if you have a Strasburg (spelling?) Children's store, they have beautiful and simple stuff as well.

Can you send a picture and some cash to whomever would be shopping with your Jr. Bridesmaid and have her buy the dress there? Or would that be too weird for an ex or too much a loss of control on your end? (Both I can totally and completely understand as I am going to be a step mom to TWO little ones who are both in my wedding!)

David's Bridal can be VERY pokey about getting things done...I was in a wedding last year and had to order shoes...took over two months when they said "Oh about two weeks at most...maybe three..." Try EIGHT!!!

Also, have you called every David's Bridal in the country to see if they have the dress? Seriously, you might get it a lot quicker if you call a store that already has the dress in the size you need...or is that what you did in the first place?

They can mail from any store. Just call yours and ask them who has it in and have them ship it out. That should be NO problem at all.

If David's doesn't come through there's a wonderful catalog called Wooden Soldier wtih several wonderful dresses suitable for a junior bridesmaid.

Just throwing out another possibility here - remember free advice is worth what you pay for it!

There are many beautiful Easter dresses in the stores right now. Maybe you could find a back-up dress?

Going back when I got married (16 yrs ago) my twin cousins were my flower girls. My aunt was going to make dresses for them, and that would have been fine - she was a great seamstress. I ended up being in a nice department store, and needed to use the restroom, and walked past some gorgeous kids dresses. One was perfect for the look I was going for. Waited until a great sale, picked them up for about $30 each. My aunt was a little disappointed she didn't get to sew them though.

That particular Easter - was the only time my twin cousins (who are identical) ever wore matching outfits at Easter.

My Mom came out to visit for Easter. We went dress shopping to try & find a jr bridemaid dres for Dwayne's daughter, couldn't find anything we liked & she is at an odd size, almost into jr's but not quite out of girls. So Mom says why don't we make the dress? She used to make all my dresses, easter, velvet xmas etc. Here is the pattern:

We are making it in ivory with a seamist sash to match the bridesmaid dresses. My Mom rocks!!! Total cost for fabric, pattern & supplies $42.87!
