I can understand why it would be 2 million. If you are in St. Louis, you should go by the corner of Gravois and 270. The white house, up on the hill, with the fountains, etc. is the one I am talking about. I understand all of the houses behind the fence and gates, are part of her complex.
Her ministry does very well. I understand she pulls in more than 100 million a year. "While Meyer's previous salary is unknown, a recent series of investigative articles in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch revealed Meyer's ministry purchased for Joyce and Dave a $2 million home, a $10 million private jet, and houses worth another $2 million for the couple's children, who also work for the ministry. The articles also outlined Meyer's recent personal purchases, including a $500,000 vacation home. Meyer, 60, lives in Fenton, Missouri, near St. Louis."
On one report, she stated that God wanted her to have all the money, and that because of that, it was ok that she spend it.
I think its great that you all are following your heart. I hope you do it with open eyes.

What I think is important to remember is not to set Joyce Meyer on a pedastal so far up that that place her next to God. She didn't "lift you from dark places"--God lifted you from dark places. He may have used Joyce Meyer's words to help you through a tough time but I am sure Joyce Meyer would not take the credit for pulling out of a dark place. I think as Christians we have to be very, very careful about uplifting human beings. We are followers of God not the one who brings the message. We can trust their thoughts as we compare their thoughts with Biblical truths and we can enjoy their style and speaking etc. But always remember that Joyce screws up just like you, just like me. Guard your heart, because if you don't, when somethng happens, you'll feel as if she has let your faith down if you think too highly of her (or anyone else).
Sorry to sound preachy. That was just on my heart as I read all this. I am glad Joyce Meyer has touched so many people so positively through her insight of Biblical truths.

I do not place any human on a pedastal, humans will always fail you, we should always keep our eyes on Jesus, he is the only one that will never fail us. I just simply wanted to start this post, to say how amazing I think she is, she has truly blessed my life with allowing the Lord to work through her and her situations to bring the word to so many people. As far as her, house, plane, etc, that was commented on in other posts, God is huge, if you listen to Joyce's teachings on money, she out and out says, that she knows from what she speaks, she didn't always have that kind of money, God has richly blessed her and I think she deserves it. She is doing God's work and he is blessing her and her family in a big way, that is just awesome.
I hope to hear more positive stories.![]()

However, I don't think being a Christian and believing in God, means you have to be poor. You can be rich and love God too. She's a publishied author, so obviously makes a lot of money out of her books, just like Danielle Steel. More power to her. It's not wrong to buy a beautiful house. In fact, some would say she is blessed for that. Would she be more legitimate if she lived in a dump?
Also, in her last book, she addressed the issue of plastic surgery, which I thought was honest, and admitted she had work done. Again, being a christian doesn't mean your perfect.
Buckalew11 said:I am sorry I came off wrong. I knew you were saying more about God than Joyce Meyer. And I think it is wonderful that God speaks through people like her. God uses many, many ways, many, many people to speak to us. If we only liten. I am glad you have listened and found hope in God.
I just felt the need to say what I did, not tobe mean, but in love as readers may think people are following a speaker and not so much God. That is all and enjoy your nice thread!!

Perfectly stated Disteach!
I wake up with a mindset every morning... whether it be positive or negative, turn on Joyce's program and she reminds me of what's important. Sort of like my Mom used to do.
Sometimes it's so helpful to have a little boost/reminder of what's important, of priorities, directions, etc... from a "brother" or "sister". I think maybe that's what someone in JM's position does for many of us.
In our situation, it was EXTREMELY helpful for our teenage son to hear from someone other than plain ole' mom and dad, the answers to the questions he had... because after all... what do we know.
My son and I watch Joyce EVERY day, even on vacation!!! We've been partners for 8 years and love her!
Funny story. Joyce was coming to Atlanta and my son, 6 at the time, wanted to see her BAD!! We went one Saturday morning and he was shaking he was so thrilled! When they had the altar call my son asked me if he could go to the stage, he just wanted to be close to her. I let him go.
He marched up to the stage with a bunch of adults. Everyone just screamed "look, a little boy!" He walked straight up towards her and she just STARED at him the whole time. I wondered why? Well, he got his bible and came back to his seat. Everyone was so impressed, everyone but me because I knew the kind of kid he is!
Afterwards, Joyce's husband, Dave was at the tape table and stopped Michael to speak to him. Michael yelled, "Hey You're Joyce's Husband!!" He said, "No she's MY WIFE"! Everybody laughed.
He bent down to speak to him and said "I saw you go up there, man. So nice that you want to know the Lord." Michael reared back and said as clear as a bell "Dave, I've ALWAYS known the Lord.."
He got a standing ovation!!
I will NEVER forget that day!
Later on I found out in one of her lectures that Joyce always wished her oldest son could've felt that way when he was young. I guess that was why she looked at him that way.
I've always appreciated how she shared her life with us. Her experiences make her so real and so accessible. Plus she reminds me so much of my Mom, who also had a rough childhoold but used it for GOOD. Joyce is one amazing woman.
! This coming from a 4 year old who is still learning to write during this school year! Blew the socks of DH and I!I agree with you, God is the one that has lifted me out of the dark places, however it seems that just when I need it, Joyce has a good word, or I can go back and rewatch a sermon or reread something from a book.
