The guys who lives below me is one of the most inconsiderate jerks ever born.

One example...on Wednesday night, (a work night) he came home at 1:30 am with his buddies, blasted his music to the point of my walls shaking, yelling, slamming doors, 'til about 4:30 am. I get up at 6. I pounded on the floor, but he just turned it louder. I did call my landlord. And this is one of the better nights. My stomach is clenched almost every night waiting for the noise to start.

Anyways, today I saw him leave with a big suitcase!!!!!!!!!

Best Christmas present ever!!!

Our city has a noise ordinance of 10:00. Next time, call the police. I bet your city has a noise ordinance also. Call the police every night as soon as you hear him.

I feel your pain, vivilasvegas!! I had a very similar experience. I was a working girl with 3 partying college guys living below me. LOUD music at all hours, during the work week. Right below my bedroom. I too had to get up early. And it didn't sit well with me either.

So when I was off, and it had been a particularly long loud night I turned the tables. I knew the guys were sleeping in, so I cranked up the volume and placed the speakers facing down so they could get the full monty. I dropped heavy books periodically. And generally stomped around.

I will give them credit. They didn't complain. I did see them several days later. We were all going into our apts. at the same time. They told me they were nice guys and I laughed and told them to "show it". We had a discussion about work/play and compromised. We actually became friends after that and I even borrowed some of their Neil Young CDs. Funny how things sometimes work out.

I wouldn't hesitate to call the police either. Obviously your landlord doesn't plan on intervening.

I am not sure where your neighbour went but mine is definately the neighbour from hell! He is so bad that I can't even write about him because it will ruin my Christmas! So I am not going to....but I will say, "I feel your pain"!

I am just waiting for my neighbor from hell to get his 4th DUI so he will do some jail time. He has been able to buy his way out of the last 3 that I know of.

we had neighbors like this (we owned, they were renters). we called the property owner and pointed out a law in our state (and most others) wherein you can sue a property owner for harboring an issue that can lower your property value (and a lousy neighbor is a major deterant to a potential buyer). he got on them QUICK.

had a co-worker with the same situation (only the rotton apple owned the house and it looked like the drug house from hell). she and the rest of the neighbors kicked in $50.00 each to pay an attorney to write a letter giving them 30 days to correct the problems or face a $1 million dollar group lawsuit (for lowering their property values)-gosh, their house went up on the market the next week
