Is this suppose to come like in mid 2005? That's what I heard from Screamscape.com,I mean if it does it said it could be similar to KING KONG at USF. Which is closed and destructed forever!! :guilty:

Not a chance... Anything that would open in 2005 would already be under construction (aka Everest in AK).

Screamscape hears a lot of stuff, some of it comes to fruition, but much doesn't.

Screamscape just reports rumors it hears from different sources. Believe it when you see the construction walls going up.

Journey (which is currently at Tokyo DisneySea) uses technology similar to Test Track. Also, it blends wonderfully into the whole Mysterious Island/Mt. Prometheus theming. I doubt we'll see it at WDW.

Funny, this rumor keeps resurfacing. We were on the backstage tram tour at Disney/MGM about 6 or 7 years ago, and there was talk amongst several CMs that we overheard, and they were saying that the rumor going around was that they were going to remove Catastrophy Canyon and replace it with Journey. Over the years, we continue to hear this particular rumor come to the forefront periodically. The CMs that we overheard were also discussing rumors that they had been hearing regarding some sort of major change to the residential street portion of the tour! So, I guess CMs are NOT always wrong about what they tell guests regarding things about the parks that may happen.

Another variation that keeps reserfacing is that Journey is coming to AK, to be built where the dragon coaster was supposed to go before Beastly Kingdom was scrapped. I beleive that is the rumor screamscape keeps reporting. I think this is all wishful thinking myself, but its amazing the legs this rumor has.

So is it still possible for it to come or is it just a plain old washout rumor and it won't come at all?
I wouldnt rate it as impossible, just unlikely. But hey, stranger things have happened and this rumor does seem to have amazing longevity.

Journey to the Center of the Earth uses EXACTLY the same ride system as Test Track. If you stand in the center of the volcano you realize that the end of the ride consists of the cars circling the volcano exactly the way they circle the Test Track building.
Journey is much more fun than test track and has a HUGE damn Audio Animatronic monster in it.
But, like Test Track's ride system, which requires high maintainance and new sets of tires for the vehicles all the time, Journey is the only ride at Tokyo DisneySea that is frequently closed for maintainance. It goes down too much and costs too much to run.
You will NEVER see another ride built at any Disney park using that ride system because it's a pain in the keister.

Thanks Mooobooks for the info. Test Track opened prior to Journey and OLC must have been aware of all the problems. It's interesting that they went ahead with it anyway. I went just after opening in Oct/Nov 2001 and it was down a couple times over the four days, but I rode it several times. I liked it better than TT because of the better theming and story.

Well if it would come I would'nt see it happening untill 2007-2008. That's my latest on this possible rumored attraction.

I think they need to add a big ride... like a lava rollercoaster for the teens to draw them to the MK to...but still keep it magical

I was watching the Travel Channel AK special and at the end, when they are talking about what is in store for the park, there is a brief segment where it shows the lavaworm from the Toyko ride. And it was computer graphiced so it probably be one. I also heard that on May 5th, Disney is making a BIG annoucement, Concerning WDW and DL attractions. I can't wait!
