While I thought it was inflated, reports suggest it's pretty accurate. Even during the busiest times of the year (i.e. Christmas and NYE), never seen in past 30.

*cough cough* thanks FP+

That is shocking!

We've always walked right onto this ride in August. Last August, during the FP+ testing, we noticed that the line was sufficiently longer (about 15 minutes or so). We thought that was bad--there's no way I'd wait 40 minutes to ride that in its current state. They'd have to bring back the Dreamfinder for me to wait that long.

There are positives and there are negatives to FP+. The line-lengthening effect FP has had on mid- and lower-tier attraction waits is definitely a negative.

So...the usually deserted EPCOT is actually busy this Memorial Day Weekend? Huh. It must be all of those people that went to the Rock Your Disney Side event yesterday wanting to change it up.

I've been on that ride where I was the ONLY person in all the cars! I can't believe the wait is that long now!!

That's just nuts..... MAJOR downside of FP not so plus.

Although I was helping a friend plan who was using a TA, and their TA actually scheduled it as one of their FPs. They are newbies, so try had no idea..... I imagine a lot of the back up is coming from folks like that, who are just scheduling a FP because they they have no clue.

We were there on May 10 mid afternoon and the sign said 30 mins, we thought it had to be wrong, it wasn't.

We were there May 3-10 and yep...it was 30+ mins each day...I was like NO WAY...so we skipped it...and we could see the line at the door...
We noticed that about the 'traditional walk-on' rides of the past...20+ minute waits at least now...that was a big downside.
Loved the Magicband for room, FP, charging, etc...otherwise...

Line lengthening at previous non-FP attractions was expected, especially when people couldn't re-ride the top tier attractions ad nauseum with FP as they could before. They had to go somewhere else.

In some cases those attractions had been running somewhere less than 100% capacity anyways. If this gets them to 100%, then in theory the wait time increase is really minor. In the case of JII, even a doubling probably would still be short of 100%. :)

A 40 minute wait today? Is they any attributable reason other than just blaming FP+? Post-24-hour bounceback to Epcot, maybe? Was the rest of Epcot busy?

I was at Epcot tonight, it was crowded. The Mexico line spilled out into the center of the building but it moved fast, maybe 5 min.

For me a video screen of Dreamfinder or even a symbolic animatronic added in would not get me in if the wait was 15Min’s. or more. Now if the original ride introduction carousel was returned a 40 Min. wait would not keep me out.

What really concerns me about all this is that the "powers that be" will see that there are wait times for everything, all the time, and decide that Epcot is PLENTY busy and doesn't need any new attractions… :rolleyes2

Very true. When it comes to MK, I'd argue FP+ is very helpful with the new rolling FP+. A late arrival is much easier at MK now with you choosing your three FP+s for the most popular attractions with times 11am, 12pm, and 1pm then getting rolling FP+s for rides like BTMRR, Buzz, Pirates, and HM as the afternoon and evening progress. No running around and you can probably get more done without rope drop then you used to. This is an advantage. Similar situation at DAK. At DHS, FP+ avoids the monstrous rush to FP+s for TSM! so that's an advantage, yet you then factoring tiering, which is a huge disadvantage at both Epcot and DHS. Not being able to ride both e-tickets with FP+ at Epcot is a huge drawback. Then add the A&E situation and these increased waits at usually walk-on rides and you have the negatives of FP+.

This is what I first thought as it is Memorial Day Weekend, but having been at Epcot when TT lines was 200 minutes during the holidays/New Year's, I can't remember Figment being more than 30 minutes. The 40 minute wait was posted on the ride for over an hour too, which is odd. Looking at easyWDW's wait times charts, it seems that Figment now generally starts with a short wait but a bit afternoon it spikes way more than it did before. Anytime the crowd is above average, a 30 to 40 minute wait at 2pm doesn't seem out of the norm now with FP+.

And Epcot was actually easyWDW's most recommended park yesterday with no EMH and SWW over at DHS. Certainly odd but interesting to watch.

Oh please...don't let that be true. Seriously, they *have* to know that EPCOT is struggling the way they have to always bring these fstivals in. Even with all of that Epcot is running 3 million less guests annually than it's peak in the '90's.

Wait to see what the wait times are when they close Soarin' for the refurb... :)
