Journey from couch to half marathon!

I recently started working out at the gym regularly. I have a workout buddy. We hit the treadmill and then the weights. I've worked up to 35 minutes on the treadmill at 3.4 mph. I decided over the weekend that I needed long term motivation.

My short term goal is to lose 15 pounds and get toned up. I want to be able to wear a bikini by our May trip. I already ordered the bikini from VS to get me motivated.

My long term goal is to be able to run the half marathon next January. I was thinking about doing the Princess Half Marathon in March 2011 but I looked at the DVC points charts and vetoed that idea. I'm kinda low on points for next year. :sad2: SO now my new goal is January.

Today I started the Couch25K program. :woohoo: I didn't run for nearly as long as I was supposed to. But some running is better than no running. It would be great to be able to turn to you guys for support. I love my dis family.
 
You can do this. I just did the Princess (my first 1/2) and came from being a couch potato...I started with the C25k and went from there...just a little bit at a time - you can do this. Progress may feel slow at some moments, but it's happening. Trust your training as you go!
