Journey back to ME!!- I'm getting bugged!!

Sending support your way, Julie!:grouphug:

Feel free to vent anytime, after all keeping it in affects our health as well, so we are willing to listen. This winter for illnesses has not been good for alot of people, so hopefully, you wil be feeling better soon.

Hang in there, you are amazingly strong.::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Well, I have a Dr appt tomorrow at 2:10 with a Dr I've never seen before in the group I go to. Hopefully he can reassure me about some things. I really think I have a sinus infection again & that maybe the last round of antibiotics ALMOST got it all, but not quite. For the first time in literally YEARS, my nose started running (not just draining down my throat), but it lasted only about 2 - 3 weeks after I finished the meds. Now this cold or whatever has the sinuses worse.

Last night DD & I watched The Jane Austen Book Club. It was really good, but if you weren't an Austen fan, you probably wouldn't get much of it.

I've spent most of the morning catching up on bills & paperwork. Thursday I start taxes.

I have $43.60 in SW credit I need to use before 6/13 & a free R/T ticket, so I'm thinking about booking DD & I to FL 4/9 - 4/14. She's off the 11 & 14th (they close Fri & Mon around PROM!!! How STUPID is that!!!!!??????) So she would only miss 1 day. Not sure, though, as she needs a job & she will be asking off for 3 weeks this summer when we go to FL via train, then the cruise. Gotta think on this one, but I would sure like to. I take her with me as I can't stand the thought of leaving her with the guys......I think you all understand what it's like around here!

I'm trying really hard to remember to journal food, but it's not working. Yesterday I had the breakfast/lunch I recorded, then 3 pieces of candy - nerves before breakfast. After I had minestrone soup, 1/2 serving of wheat goldfish & a fiber one bar (which hurt to eat!!)

Lelsi, Pearlie, Amy, Tracy....I can't begin to tell you what you mean to me & how much your thoughts & prayers help! Just knowing I can come here & vent & voice my concerns w/o being ridiculed or laughed at (as is what happens here) helps so much!!! :grouphug:

Ooh! A fellow Jane Austen fan! Have you been watching the Masterpiece Theater series these past several weeks? It's been so much fun to see them all. I really liked their takes on Persuasion and Northanger Abbey.

oh dear Julie
i hope your DS sorts a job out soon so you have less worry & stress!!
hopefully the Dr will help sort out some of your health issues
Is the tooth feeling better?
Any news on the mammo??

Take care Julie, i hope your week gets better

DD & I LOVE Austen! She really didn't want to read it, but when I basically forced her she loved it & now is continually devouring at least one of the books at a time & every movie she can find. Our local network said it was carrying the series, but after the first week, it disappeared. In DDs words "very tragic!"

No news on the mammo yet, but I didn't get our mail today, so it may be there. Tooth is slightly better today, but still really sore, & the temp they put on isn't like a normal temp crown ....more like made out of putty & kind of gritty. At least it's only for about a week.

DD woke up this morning with the same cold stuff I've got....including a couple of neck nodes swelling. Good thing that she has no school again tomorrow & can rest up.

DH went to his cardiologist today. The liver enzymes are apparently getting a bit better, but his cholesterol & triglycerides are getting "really high" - of course he doesn't remember any numbers. His weight appears to be doing the same & he said he hit a new high at the Dr today... almost seemed proud which is a bit sick(no pun intended). When I got back from DD's dentist appt he was already home from picking DS18 up & was eating a LARGE plate of tortilla chips with a disgusting amount of real cheese on them (and I LOVE chips & lots of cheese). Really disheartening & very sad for me that he doesn't seem to care..... Plus it really bothers DD.

Off to get a couple more journals visited & get a few chores done before Biggest Loser comes on. And I need some tylenol.....DS18 is in his room drumming on his new 7 pc set - which he paid CASH for!! DS21 is sitting in the living room, above DS18 playing the Pink Floyd on a guitar & singing with his 'smoker's voice'. we're having the noise wars!!!

Can you take me on a cruise too?:worship: That sounds like fun.

Some days I just don't know how you keep up with everyone, plus get done all you do and yet manage to stay grounded. Here's hoping for good news on the mammo.:grouphug:

I really hope today is a good one for you.::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Thanks, Lesli! Cruise will be fun, even if DH & DSis's DH don't do anything, the 2 of us will!

today has started off good.....went to get the mail & the mammo results said :thumbsup2 , see you in a year!! Now if the Dr appt this afternoon can go well.......

DH & his sister went to the casino last night ....for about 5 hours....again. And, after his plate of nachos, he ate buffet. WOW!!!!! She can get by with that....about 105 lbs on a good day, 5'5 & eats more than DS18 & DD combined. I'd love to have her metabolism!!! Probably due in part to all the cigarettes & caffeinated diet soda she consumes....

Now that I have cleared a path in my closet for a step stool, I may do the closet switchover today.... but not sure I want to try on clothes..... Other than that & take DD to look for jobs before/after Dr, I'm not sure what else today will bring.

Have a good Wednesday everyone!!!

Great news on the mammo Julie  :cool1: :yay:

Hope it goes well with the Dr today too :)

Thank the Lord for good mammogram results! I'm so happy for you.

Can you tell me more about the fiber you use for your yogurt? I'm a big believer in fiber and would love to have a supplement I could just stir into things.

I just use the normal (guess it's 'original') Fiber one cereal. Kind of looks like brown sticks, but it really tastes good in the yogurt. 1/2 c is 60 cal, 14 g fiber on WW it's 0 points. I put it in WW yogurt which has 3 g fiber & it totals 1 pt.

Thanks for the info--I've had that before with yogurt too. It does work pretty well.

I think I've seen TV commercials about this fiber you can stir into things--it's supposed to dissolve and be undetectable. I'll have to look for it at the store sometime.

Have you and your DD seen the recent Pride & Prejudice movie (the one with Kiera Knightly)? I know a lot of people think of the 1995 BBC/A&E adaptaion as the gold standard (Colin Firth  ) but the new one is a very worthy addition--I even think it does a few things better than the older adaptation, though they're both great. If you haven't seen it you should definitely rent it or keep an eye out for it on TV. I think I saw that Lifetime was going to be showing it soon.

Also, have you two seen Bride & Prejudice? It's a Bollywood (Indian movies) style adaptation of Pride and Prejudice by a woman named Gurinder Chanda--she also made Bend it Like Beckham, so you might be familiar with her work. Bride & Prejudice is a lot of fun if you just sit back and go with it.

I hope your PBS station eventually airs the whole Austen special.

Pearlie, I haven't tried the invisible fiber, but it's on my shopping list to find. I think I saw it in Costco even. A friend has used it & says it is truly invisible to her family. Love the new version of P&P with Kiera . Haven't seen B & P but will have to look for it. Sounds like something DD would love. Maybe get it for our 3 day train ride!

This Dr. was nice, a bit quirky, probably mid-50s. Checked everything out. Gave me 2 more weeks of the doxycycline - it worked, but is a pain due to eating timing, but oh well.....

did so much poking on my thyroid I felt like I was choking & would be bruised. Didn't feel any nodules & said in his estimation, it's not enlarged, but if I continue to be hoarse(not), to go back to primary & see if she wants to do an ultrasound. I see my Gyn in a month & I'll have her check it out, too.

Lymph nodes he didn't really pay attention to. Said it is all the sinus crud & they may never go back to being all the way 'untouchable'. Especially since DD has the same problem.

Gave me an RX for some suppositories....fun fun....said I have must have had 3 kids....duh! Said inflamed inside & irritated. Gee, imagine that......

All in all, good, & does much to ease my mind. Thanks for the prayers.

I have no idea what my BP was, they didn't tell me & I didn't ask. I just bet it was high. My pulse was 109 which is really high for me, but I had just walked in, up the stairs & they called me.

Off to get dinner....

Hey Julie, great news on the mammo results! What a relief (and reminds me I need to get one too). So glad that finally came so your mind could rest easy on that one. New doc sounds good, at least he gave you some answers. I have heard nothing but good things about the invisible fiber thing. I may have to get some of that too!

You can always come here and vent, we are here for you! I know my WISH friends know all my life stories and I want to know theirs too if they want to share! I just want you to know how much I admire you, you are great wife and mom, do so much for others and those kids and your dh are so lucky to have you. As for dh's nacho thing, that has got to be frustrating. But in the end its his choice. I am sure that does bother dd, at least she sees how hard you try and how well you have done with losing weight and exercising. It has to be his choice but it still makes it hard and sad for you.

Go to Florida! Your dates are about like mine, except we go on the 16th. I love that time of year in Florida!

Keep up your hard work and hang in there!

Glad to hear your good news on the mammo. I know how much that one test worries you so. :grouphug:

Hopefully, your other health problems will clear up soon. This winter, there have been alot of people with various sinus problems, throat problems, and such, but nothing seems standard. It's like everyone has a different strain and the docs are having trouble diagnosing. I just hope they get to the bottom of yours soon or that the springs comes soon enough so that you can be healthy again.

WISHing you a great day!::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Thanks Amy & Lesli! You guys are AWESOME!!!! My DSis goes for her next mammo next month ...will be 3 years since the BC.

Went to WW this morning. Down 1.8!!!!!:cool1: I'm now 4 lbs from my WW all time low (Oct 2003) and I'm hoping to make it in March. That will still leave me a LOT to try to lose before the cruise, but at least I will be losing weight I haven't lost before!!!

Yeah Julie!!!! Great news on the mammo!:cheer2:

I'm sorry to hear that you're still not feeling well. I bet it didn't help to have the doctor poking and prodding. :(

Please be sure and take some time out for you each day. You need time to heal your body and to relax.

Hope you have a great day!:goodvibes

Great job losing that 1.8 pounds Julie! :cool1: You can get to your 2003 weight in March, you are really doing well. I am proud of you! You have hung in there and now the weight is not hanging on you!

Congrats on the weight loss and being so close to a great goal! Hey, it has taken a few years, but I admire your strength and determination to get this far. I can remember when you started journaling, so pat yourself on the back because you have achieved great success in many ways.:grouphug:

Hope your day is a good one.::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Congrats on the loss Julie

Glad the Dr found nothing too nasty, hope you feel 100% soon
Have a great weekend

What a weekend!!

Food has been good, mainly due to my trying to increase fiber & the antibiotic which makes me eat nothing after about 5:30 - 6:30 if I want to get to bed by about 10.

No real exercise, but spent the weekend cleaning my closet, laundry & house.

Enrolled Sashi in puppy school, but I had to take her to the 1st on Sat morning as DS18 had a job interview. He now will work unloading freight at Home Depot from 4 - 8 am whatever days he can work(can work 7 if he wants) for $11/hr + monthly performance bonuses. He's thrilled! Still has his evenings, will have time to come home & nap, etc. I'm not so thrilled as I will be waking him up about 3-3:30 for work, some days having to take him, so my days will now start REALLY early & I'm sure not end any earlier. Oh well, at least 1 kid is now employed!!

Sashi really is a laid back husky...she SLEPT thru most of puppy school!!

I'm hoping DS18 gets a discount at Home Depot(doubtful)!! Gas grill went kaput! I'm gonna wait to see. He starts Wednesday.

And the Flat TV in my bedroom(4 yrs old - read on the net everyone who has it has had it die at 4....samsung), and my icemaker/water is still out, dishwasher is going, had to replace van.....This is an expensive spring!!!

I'm going today to get DH a new tv. Last night DD & I purposely stayed on my computer(which is also a TV) to see what he would do. He kept going & standing in front of his armoire(which the tv is in), then pacing the bedroom, willing it to come on I think. Did this for over 2.5 hours!!! He will NOT go downstairs to the big screen....too much work/effort! Definitely TV withdrawel! And, If I let him watch on this computer, he tips back & will finish breaking my desk chair (besides, I won't be able to DIS!)

Someday I need to get taxes done. I was going to today, but too much else....hopefully tomorrow.
