Journaling boxes?

How do you guys make your journaling boxes, or what do you use for journaling? I hand journal everything, and a lot of times, I end up just writing on the page. I'd like to find a more creative way, but all I can come up with is to mat a slip of paper and use that, still very plain.

Ideas?

Journal boxes like we swap with (a white square matted on cardstock), tags, love tags!! I can tuck them in behind pics and what not. That's pretty much it.

I have some stamps that are journaling blocks, but they are not very big. I also create my own journaling blocks with matted borders made with the cricut. Every once in a while I will print my text in strips and glue that to the page. I still do most of my journaling right on the page. I just try to do it in interesting ways like around photos or around the edge of the page or in a creative shape.

Type my journaling up and cut strips to put on the layout... Sometimes I mat them and add embellishments to them.

I've done various shapes.. I did a honey pot for Crystal Palace when I first started scrapping.

I write them out on tags, boxes, rectangles, stars.

I haven't done much writing directly on the page I have scrapped on but I want to try that...
Library pockets and tags are nice too.. In the swaps we have decorated the pockets and used the tag for journalling...

BBB, do you have a cricut?

Someone once used a shadow of Donald's hat for a box, Mickey's glove, a Tree, etc. You can do a ton of stuff for journal boxes that way.

i don't want to use it i love it that much!
