Josh announced he is no longer updating his crowd calendars. His reasoning can be found below. I have to say that he might be the most straight forward and honorable crowd predicator in the game. Hats off to him. Sad to see his crowd calendars are on hold because his were most likely to be accurate. Few in the Disney blogger/website/podcast game generated easy access to info like he has...

"Disney did away with their long term predictions back in March and they're not saying anything more than two weeks out. Last year's crowds aren't a good indicator of this year's crowds. The summer has been completely dead. June saw lower attendance than virtually any time since September 2012. The last week of April this year was busier than Easter. No crowd calendar predicted that. Can't really go by wait times since Disney now reduces staffing so much when they're expecting fewer people. So you can have half as many people in line and still see longer waits if a ride is running with half the vehicles on the track. Avoiding Extra Magic Hours is antiquated advice. Animal Kingdom wait times this summer have been longest on Tuesdays. So I guess what I'm saying is that I don't have any information to provide. I could make it up like the "competition" and spend 20 minutes every month color coding the travel agents calendar based on when EMH is, but it wouldn't be accurate. So I don't know." He's the best in the game.

As he points out, a great touring plan (like the ones he provides), outweighs a crowd calendar anyway.

I can't say I'm shocked. The biggest thing is these crowd predictors are no longer a secret and many people share them even though you are suppose to have a subscription to see the newest ones. With more people using crowd calendars and touring plans they are going to be obsolete. Imagine if Josh tells everyone to go to Tomorrowland first and ride XYZ rides by noon. It would logically lead to less people in Fantasyland first and more people in Tomorrowland thus making even the touring plans obsolete.

There's a big difference between "I'm making the the crowd calendar predictions myself" and "We base our crowd calendars on crowd-sourced data." I think what he's really saying is he doesn't have enough data anymore to make his predictions, and if that was caused by WDW limiting data availability, what was he really bringing to the table, anyway? Also, the way he back-handed his competitors makes him sound unprofessional.

His crowd calendars were clean, easily accessible, WDW data driven, and had notes for each month addressing potential crowd issues and events. It was free and clean. Big bonus, he is willing to address and accept these crowd calendar limitations. He is basically saving us all from putting too much emphasis into the current state of crowd calendars.

In other words, he doesn't want you subscribing to the competition.

First, who is the competition? Second, why does Josh not want you subscribing to another crowd calendar site if he is no longer interested in providing crowd calendars (until data issues change)?

If anything, Josh is providing a public service announcement and letting everyone know that the data is cloudy, wdw data is not listed far enough in advance, and the current climate at wdw make it rather difficult to predict crowds. Pretty damn nice of him to do so.
