I understand how the situation is not a good thing, but why make it public if they are going such a bad time? How about turn off the cameras and work it out. There kids will get older and see this on TV one day.

I can't help to think this is just a scam so they can get ratings.

But then again, I am just an old grumpy man.

I can't say that I have ever watched a full episode but I was "forced" to watch some over the weekend. I just wonder if anyone thinks about what this whole thing is doing to the kids. Is anyone thinking about their well being? I'm sure the show is just about the $$$, so I say enough already!

So who wants cake..........or pie..........or some delicious combination of the two on the same plate!!!!!!!!!!!

I watch the show occasionally and things have changed so much from when the show first started, it's really a shame. What a testament to what money can do someone.

I hope they do turn off the cameras long enough to work of their marriage. I used to watch the show, but now don't at all. It hit me on the show they went to WDW. What are those cute little kids (mostly girls) going to do when the cameras are gone? They are so used to having a camera crew follow them around, how will they take not having them there? If they can't get the attention they crave by acting or modeling, to what extent will they go to get that attention? I just feel they need to let them have a normal childhood at some point. Maybe I'm wrong about that, I mean look how well Michael Jackson turn out.

...and I would love some cake and pie!! I'll even take a Skinny Cow Fudge Pop.

I watched the early specials on them, and considering how hard it was for them to supprt those kids back then, I can see why they want to keep the show on. Having eight kids has got to be hard on their finances.

Still, they have let the money get out of control, at least that's what it looks like. I don't want to make any judgments, because I'm sure it would be a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation (at least to them), but from the looks of it, those cameras need to go off.

I love how everyone is judging what we really don't know. This is a TV show so of course TLC is going to show the most dramatic events, and or stage the scene for drama.

Everyone is talking about the fact that they need to turn the cameras off but as an article in USA Today states they signed a contract for this seasons show and they have to complete the season. They can't turn the cameras off.

I refuse to cast an opinion because it is not my right to cast an opinion, I dont know the entire story, nor do I want to know the entire story. It's NOT my business. Sounds like both sides have issues that need to be resolved and I do feel for the kids because once again the press is taking this story and running with it..

Whatever happens I wish them well and blessings to the kids...

My DS was 5 (he is now 18) when my ex-hus. had an affair and ripped our marriage appart. We tried to keep peace but it still broke his little heart. Watching Jon & Kate + 8 last night brought me to tears because no matter how much they say they are going to do it and keep it together for the kids...they are just fooling themselves because regardless, if they split up there are going to be 8 very broken hearts. Yes, they can make sure the kids know that they are loved and none of it is their fault but it will still hurt and there will still be lots and lots of tears and pain. My heart goes out to all of them.

Seriously the only way the cameras are going to get turned off is if people stop watching the show. That isn't going to happen. I am sure that many of the people who have said turn off the cameras (not just here- these exact same conversations are all over the internet) will tune in again next week and the week after etc. TLC would cancel if viewership declined greatly but it won't because people have a wild curiousity about looking into other people's lives - which is why there are so many "reality" shows on. I have watched a few episodes I admit- but as cute as the kids are, I could never stand the interaction between the parents, they never seemed to have a healthy relationship even prior to all "this" so after those few episodes I stopped watching.
